The basketball world is mourning the loss of Stacey King, who passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 59. King was a three-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls and later became one of the most beloved voices in Bulls broadcasting. Born in Lawton, Oklahoma, King starred at the University of Oklahoma before being selected sixth overall in the 1989 NBA Draft by the Bulls. He played alongside Michael Jordan during Chicago’s first three-peat championship run from 1991 to 1993. After his playing career, King reinvented himself as a broadcaster and spent more than two decades calling Bulls games. His enthusiasm, humor, and unforgettable catchphrases—such as “Gimme the hot sauce!” and “Too big, too strong, too fast, too good!”—made him a fan favorite across generations. Tributes have poured in from across the NBA, including from Michael Jordan, Bulls ownership, and fellow basketball legends.
