This brings back some sad, sad memories. My wife and I were at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on 8/27/90 to see Jeff and Bonnie Raitt. Less than 24 hours earlier, in the early morning, Stevie's helicopter crashed leaving the resort in East Troy, Wisconsin, killing all aboard. At that Wisconsin concert, with Stevie were Jeff Healy and Bonnie Raitt (who was very close to Stevie). Bonnie dedicated a couple of songs to Stevie, and it was a very emotional show for all.

Such a special sound and boy, did life deal him some bad cards on multiple occasions. RIP
