If passed, it would result in a NSW referendum so the people of NSW can vote to amend our constitution to prevent politicians (in the heat of the moment) rushing in new laws. If there is a crisis, the parliament would be unable to bring in a new law for three months. In exceptional circumstances 90% of the parliament can vote to override this restriction. There's no such thing as utopia. Future crises will happen ... and then there'll be demands the politicians 'do something, do anything!' If a new law is required we are far better off having our lawmakers take some time to soberly think through consequences. Libertarian Party NSW (Liberal Democrats)
