Virginians paid $828 million in ENERGY TAXES on their power bills under RGGI, and removing Virginia from the program saved $937 million. Revenues were $600 million higher than expected for last year. This is Give Kids The World Village, it’s an 89 acre, nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, Florida It provides critically ill children and their families with a cost-free weeklong wish vacations, that includes accommodations, transportation, free theme park tickets and all-inclusive meals The Village has hosted over 205,000 families from all all 50 states and 77 countries Their goal is to provide an stress-free, joyful, and normal experience for the entire family, allowing them to focus on creating happy memories So don’t get me wrong, I think this is amazing and I’ve read comments from people who have volunteered here and said they leave crying because the kids are so happy that get to go So that’s really great, however I liked up financial information and found the CEO is getting paid $400,000 per year… No one working for a nonprofit should be pocketing $400,000 per year That being said, let me say something else good Total Revenue: $69.6 million Total Expenses: $73.5 million Program expenses direct services for families is 93% This means the huge majority of money is going to where it should go Only 7% of money taken in is spent on fundraising and admin combined Total salaries, wages, and benefits are roughly $11–13 million annually (about 15–18% of total expenses)
