Render vs blender viewport, those scene would not have been possible without using linked scene, a big ship full of detailed could be duplicated as much as necessary as i could with a cube! very powerful! The full film is on youtube if you missed it! 👉

Are the swirling oil surfaces some sort of animated wave texture?

yep!

if you're an aspiring (or established) filmmaker looking to package your next project effectively...Let's connect.

The lord of scale!

Man I can't even imagine the gov. budget to cover expenses to build, maintain, service and utlize so many huge machines of that kind.. damn. This looks absolutely fantastic by the way!

@jarvinart Paul what exactly is a linked scene?

@jarvinart you can import a collection from another scene, so you save lot of memory for your current scene!

brother you are ussing blender to create all this marvelous wonder_?

blender for those shot yes!

Something I absolutely love about these scenes with the massive ships and rigs is how the perspective is absolutely smashed, giving one the impression of someone filming something gigantic from far away with lots of zoom. It really helps communicate how huge these are.

When you say scene linked is what you link a scene already composed and recomposed you from above? I’m a fan of your really impressive work!

One scene have a big ship, and then you can import the scene (link) into another scene!
