Rep. Bennie Thompson, who chaired Jan. 6 committee, says he “would accept” a preemptive pardon if one was issued by President Biden: “It’s [the president’s] prerogative. If he offers it to me – or other members of the committee – I think, I would accept it. But it’s his choice.”

If the J6 committee members did nothing wrong, then why would they need to accept a preemptive pardon? Pardons are for people that committed a crime, like Hunter Biden. So what crime did Bennie Thompson commit?
