The case is one that Mother Jones reporter Abby Vesoulis has been covering for weeks: a custody fight over the two-year-old daughter of Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) and his ex-wife, Emily Moreno—whose father is Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio). Miller is currently defending himself against Emily's allegations that he held a gun to her head, shoved her against a wall, and threw scalding water at her—all of which he vehemently denies. Despite these allegations, and at least six Republican senators (including his former father-in-law) urging him to drop out, Miller is running for reelection and has vowed to stay in the race. The deadline to replace him on the ballot passed earlier this month. Abby got a rare chance to question Miller directly, just weeks after uncovering more than 2,000 pages of court and police records detailing the abuse allegations. Therefore, he is suspending his campaign. He's leaving his name on in some states and advising people to vote for him during the election, but in 10 battleground states, he's removing it and telling them NOT to vote for him because it might give the election to Harris. He said there was a point he went into his daughter(s) room and asked when they painted the wall pink. His wife told him it’s been there for two years. He said that was the point he thought it important to rest on the tours and be with his children. At that point, he probably was a guest in his house. Men’s lives are not easy. Footballers especially — elite footballers most especially are like tour musicians. They’re often on the road. You’re playing away games round the country, spending three days or more away from home when you have continental away games. Gabriel Jesus spoke about the same thing in his recent interview with The Players’ Tribune titled “A Letter to My Family and my Arsenal Family”. He said football made him distant but his ACL injury brought him closer. “I wasn’t the husband and father that I needed to be,” he said. When his wife gave birth to his daughter, he said he only held her for one day. Brazil called and he had to go. And he was a guy who grew up without a father. For his child at the time, he was there now but wasn’t there too. “I always promised myself: When I become a father, I will always be there for my kids. “When Helena was born, I was not living up to that. I was there, but I was always distracted, you know? Always catching a flight.” That’s the tough decisions men have to make sometimes. At the point of growth and ascent, life will ask questions, and difficult decisions will need to be made. Hopefully, it will be one that won’t damage the future. The future one is securing.

The step mom knew how much it has bothered the father so she told him to be in a suit when he got home from work and to have flowers because she had a special surprise for him when he got home. When he got home, he was greeted by his daughter in a formal dress. Not only did the wife get her a dress but made snacks, and decorated the home for the occasion. Do you agree that divorced parents should not prevent each other from having these precious moments with their children?

Because he's extraordinarily humble, Dr. Paul said it was because of the ideas and that he was standing on the shoulders of giants. But I insisted that it went beyond the ideas— it had something to do with his character. Tucker Carlson’s monologue before his interview with Ron Paul captures it exactly: It can't be reduced to the fact that he was a libertarian—that overstates it and understates it. Ron Paul created a lasting movement because he is an honest man and has been a consistent moral voice. And for that, he was seen as crazy in 2008 and 2012. But now people recognize that Ron Paul was right.
