"The seat will be declared vacant by Henry McMaster, the governor of South Carolina [...] He would probably appoint somebody, & the question is whether or not they appoint a caretaker senator. In other words, somebody who's just there, who's not going to run for the seat, & is going to serve out the balance of Senator Graham's term, which would end on January 3rd." "They would have to have some sort of a snap or lightning primary [...] in the next five to six weeks, then that person would face Democrat Annie Andrews, who's already been nominated in the fall." "Now, the question is about who after that. Somebody I would look at [...] is Russell Fry, a Republican from South Carolina."
