Rep. Tim Burchett: "We don't need term limits on politicians. We need term limits on staff members because they run the office. It just runs with or without them. And it gets so big and the lobbyists have so much control — That's why they don't want to change it."

Most Americans can't wait to retire after decades of working. Why do our politicians NEVER want to quit or retire? They die in office or become so senile they can't function. Why is that? @RepTimBurchett

We do need term limits on everybody in Congress. Can you say Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi and some of the more recent ones. Congress forces everyday Americans to retire why not them?

When I was growing up, bribing an official was a crime. The main task of a lobbyist is bribery; therefor, they SHOULD be prosecuted for their crimes. However, corruption protects them via unrighteous laws.!! CORRUPTION must be put down.

We need term limits on Congress. All of Congress.

Staff members should be fired at the end of each term and not allowed back in. That should help with some of the corruption. Staff members that stay on, don't know their jobs better. They know Corruption better. With Each added term, they are more adept to the corruption. .

Tim is based AF 🇺🇸

Being a Senator should be hard work that induces retirement. Instead it’s the easiest job on earth.

This is a bunch of bullshit gas companies are not gouging point the finger where fault lies and that lies with a man sitting right there a politician who makes a living by lying

Who hires the staff Tim?

I disagree, there should be term limits.

We need term limits on all elected officials.

How about both Tim??

We need term limits on both. Maybe also a single term for Congress and the President, 6 years for the house, 8 for the Senate, 10 for President. No reelection pressure.

As McConnell running his seat! No one elected them ,

They’re gouging the fuck out of us and I don’t know why nobody’s being arrested for it, but I’d rather have slightly higher gas prices than a nuclear ran and that’s fine with me. I’ll deal with it. I mean it doesn’t matter that Washington state where I live has about two dollars of taxes on a gallon of gas so what the fuck is the big deal?

Tim Burchett says the real power lies with the staff. Politicians just do what they say. Absolutely correct, but in Washington the real rulers are the staff and the lobbyists. Term limits on them are also necessary.

Interesting angle — staff turnover is actually pretty high already (Congress has some of the highest staff attrition of any employer), so the "entrenched staff running things" framing may understate how much churn already happens.

I’m over the AG! We need another one that’s got the guts savoy to go after the treasonous bastards and bitches

Diesel started going up in February it had nothing to do with Putin nothing to do with Russia 100% with the war that should have been over after the second week that's when we should have left

The globalists don’t get global governance if the US does not fall. So they are pulling every string.

8 years maximum- for anyone. Except military

Real drain-the-swamp reform means cutting off the permanent political class at every level, not just the puppet headliners.
