Today I’m standing on land that was once occupied by the Russians - and is now being demined. Beneath the soil, the war is still there. About 23% of Ukraine remains potentially contaminated with landmines and unexploded ordnance. That’s roughly 150,000 km2: about the size of all of England, or nearly the size of the state of Florida. These explosives don’t just threaten soldiers. They endanger families returning home, farmers trying to work their fields, utility workers repairing infrastructure, and children simply being children. Demining is slow, painstaking work — done meter by meter — but it is absolutely essential. Without it, there is no safe return, no full recovery, no sustainable future. Clearing the land means restoring life.

Good lord....Superheavy is a MONSTER!!! Something I believe will potentially cause delays to the expected 3 week turnaround time for flight 10 will be repairing the damage sustained to the Booster QD. It seems like the pitch over maneuver occurred a bit earlier than normal, which increased the BQD's exposure to the exhaust plume. In these images from RGV Aerial Photography you can see the current condition of the top of the door. The heat appears to have partially melted and folded back the steel. This allowed the plume to start eating away at the seal between the door and the front side of the enclosure. Difficult to tell but it seems like the hot gases were able to penetrate the gap between the two surfaces and likely caused some damage to the internal components. I think its safe to assume the door will need to be replaced and something will need to be done to repair the front side of the enclosure. Replacing the door without repairing this surface would likely result in even more damage on flight 10. Luckily things like this will no longer be a problem on the Pad B launch mount. So Pad A just needs to hang on a few more months until this structure can be retired, demolished, and reconstructed.

I’ve seen some bad repairs in my day, but I think this takes the cake not only does it look unsure but it’s rather unsafe looking too. Imagine going into the attack to fix something, insulation would be everywhere blocking visibility of the shoddy work. I don’t think this would support anyone standing on it. This guy was repairing his ceiling and cut out some drywall and this is what he found. I’m guessing the previous homeowner did this, I don’t see any contractors signing off on this unless this was an inexperienced handyman. Regardless, I wouldn’t settle for this level of work, I would just rip it out and fix it right, might as well get it done since most of the ceiling is already exposed. Anyone who would do work like this isn’t fit to work on houses period.
