All medical professionals must wash their hands when they enter an exam room and put on gloves prior to touching the patient. You have every right to request it. That was highly inappropriate. The fear of being dramatic needs to be addressed. It’s not dramatic to call out bs.

That’s a OSHA health violation and has been since the AIDS virus awareness in the 80’s. Totally unacceptable. PPE is not optional. Find a new TMJ specialist. Or just have your primary Dentist make you a night guard. You can wear it during the day as well if you clench driving or lifting at work. Also stick to a soft diet. Warm moist heat packs with anti inflammatory over the counter medication will also give you some relief. Surgery is not indicated in today’s treatment plans like they used to perform back in the 90’s. Don’t let this bad experience keep you from going to the dentist. That is absolutely not the norm in the Dental Field.

I have TMJ dysfunction and have seen organ surgeons, dentists and physiotherapists for it. They NEVER do mouth manipulation without gloves. For one thing, it's not safe for THEM, let alone YOU. And his manner was absolutely fucking inappropriate, he needs reported.

Just last week, I had a doctor say something to me that was very sexually inappropriate! I had red flags going off like crazy. I will not be back!
