As England enters its fourth heatwave, the campaign group Surfers Against Sewage has warned holidaymakers to check the quality of the water before they go swimming. Data from the charity shows private water companies allowed a year's worth of sewage to enter England's waterways - including designating bathing waters - during the last three heatwaves. Water UK said “no sewage spill is ever acceptable”, adding that they have tripled investment over the next five years to halve spills from storm overflows. #heatwave #sewagespills
