There’s no slowing the technology, but the bottleneck which can prevent AI from being rapidly deployed and wiping out millions of jobs is infrastructure. A shortage of electricity and materials along with resistance to AI data center development can slow down the “AI apocalypse”.

On one side, these tech heads have no idea what they’re doing or creating, other than total and utter destruction, and on the other they have an absolute singular goal. “Concentrate the wealth” is just another way of saying “Stealing the wealth.” No one wants this. Years ago (2017) I wrote that AI needed to be reclassified as either "Programmed AI" or "Autonomous AI". "Programmed AI" includes improvements by programmers that make products better. This is what the IT field has been doing since its inception. "Autonomous AI" poses the real threat: programs capable of altering themselves. The [chatboxes] are still "Programmed AI", meaning it is STILL under the total control of the programmers. Little harm can be done. But in the future, programs will become "Autonomous AI", meaning that they will move from programmer (human) control to SELF control. Although I was making a joke about Skynet earlier, it is likely that some human somewhere will relinquish control over to an autonomous process which will be capable of doing its own programming. Like I said before, then we will be in trouble. The "Autonomous AI" will reject the human ideas and substitute their own ideas. As I said, they will abandon the humans and we will be left on our own. I don't believe much has changed.

Mo was one of the first people to come on this podcast and warn me about AI, long before most of the world was talking about it. At the time, it felt early. Now, it feels like the world is catching up to what he was seeing. I’m still trying to understand what AI actually means for our lives. Not just whether it can write emails, create images or make us more productive. I mean what it does to jobs. What it does to power. What it does to education.
