These people must realize completely rewriting the rules of international law for some but not others is gonna be extremely bad in the future, and make them meaningless

I think they got bad advice. Some US government attorneys messed up. Non-binding was the wrong wording. The resolution is binding but does not specify enforcement measures. That is what Matt Miller is attempting to say and that is accurate.

There is no Executive, so-called civil society or commentator that is going to undermine the powers of Parliament. Parliament has the powers to make binding resolutions and laws, and that must not be surrendered to a Commission established by the Executive to make non-binding recommendations. Parliament is a product of a democratic process - it must be respected regardless of one’s personal views of it. It must not be undermined to pander to individuals. The General must appear to the Ad Hoc Committee established to investigate his allegations - that’s all.

Yesterday in LA I spotted this CGTN (Chinese State Media) reporter covering the protests. I acknowledged to him that it was interesting CGTN was sending reporters and he got super awkward. Fire trucks should be allowed to destroy someone’s car if they do something stupid like this. They should plow through it and keep going. People might be dying, and this idiot is turning it into an ego trip. Pretty sure it is legal for a firetruck to damage whatever is preventing them from responding to an emergency if there's no faster, less destructive option. Could be wrong but it makes sense to prioritise saving lives over personal property
