Clashes continue this morning in Suwayda, between the Druze & the Syrian regime forces. Overnight the Israeli army bombed additional Syrian regime positions in Daraa, southern Syria. It seems that Israel wants the Druze to control the south, and don't trust Jolani on this.

The Syrian government appears to be calling Israel’s “bluff” following yesterday’s statement in which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to launch a military operation in the city of Jaramana, near the capital of Damascus, due to what it claimed was Syrian security forces targeting the Druze people in the city, something which Druze militias and groups have denied. Syrian military and security personnel flying the Druze flag entered the city in force earlier today, taking control of sites around Jaramana, with both the Druze and Christian populous celebrating their arrival in the streets. Syrian forces as well as Druze militias have stated that they will find those responsible for recent unrest and attacks on security forces in the city.

Specifically, they were deployed around the Tha'lah airbase and the Busra al-Harir-Suwayda highway. On August 3, as a result of ceasefire violations, Druze militias launched an attack on Tal Hadid, taking the hill for several hours until they withdrew back to their original positions. The violations continued on August 9, this time with an initiative by the militias to expel STG militants from al-Mazra'ah, which was repelled by Damascus forces. On the other hand, the humanitarian situation in Suwayda is deteriorating, with the blockade imposed, aid convoys are limited, and the city is beginning to suffer from shortages of vital food supplies.
