Inter-caste marriage is absolutely fine when two people genuinely love each other and choose to be together. But turning a marriage into a “victory” of one caste over another, and treating the girl like a trophy, is a toxic mentality that should be called out. At the same time, her father performing her last rites is equally condemnable. Both sides should have shown maturity, accepted their choice, and respected each other. A marriage should unite two people, not become a war between communities.

Just before I came here, I had a chat with some of the students. Some students from the 7th grade interacted with me, and I asked them who was their best teacher. And a girl mentioned Alice Ma'am. Then I asked them why she is a good teacher. They immediately answered that she listens to them, she teaches them with love and affection, she is kind to them, and she allows them to have fun while studying. Now, if you want to teach somebody or if you want to learn, you need an atmosphere like the one Alice Ma'am has created for the students: one of love, affection and respect and where people can listen to each other and be kind. That's exactly my fight as well.
