Thom Tillis of North Carolina reiterated on Wednesday he doesn’t “have any confidence” in Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who has faced intense scrutiny over a fatal shooting by immigration agents in Minneapolis over the weekend. “She’s a complete failure on disaster response,” Tillis told reporters, calling the department “asleep at the switch.” “She clearly doesn't know how to manage. She's never managed a large organization, and she's failing at every possible measure of the job,” he added. Tillis on Tuesday was the first Republican senator to call for Noem's ouster.
