"In no way did he look like a top 5 pick... Of all the good Ohio State WR's over the last 8 years, I feel like he's at the bottom. He's never had the onus on him to be THE guy." 🚨Anthony Lima on Ohio State WR Carnell Tate after their loss to Miami

Buddy Guy turns 90 today. His mother's stroke pulled him from school as a teenager. When he left Louisiana in '57, he promised her he'd make it big and come back in a polka-dot Cadillac. She died before she ever saw his success. Years later, he had Fender build him a polka-dot guitar to carry her memory everywhere he plays. Still touring at 90. Damn right, he's still got the blues.

Before his currently clean cut, bald look, JMSN had an era that made him look like a holy prophet who just wanted to groove. Starting off with something just as feel good that would make you glide to the center of the dance floor and HIT that shit- "'Bout it"

“Let it all work out” A man with a special story. It will always work out for him because he means well for others. Respectful to the core. Admirable to a fault. Fans, coaches, players all have only good things to say about him. The colleague that met him and was elated he took photos with her children. The brother that met him at the airport and instantly spoke about his humility. The friend that met him at the barbing salon and took photos with him. You won’t make people feel that good about themselves and not be loved. Success always. Top human.

Keaton Wagler on his matchup with Darryn Peterson tonight: “Obviously he’s a great player… I was just trying to be aggressive. Be physical with him. Make him shoot tough shots. I think that’s what I did. I feel like I did a good job on him. Should’ve had less fouls on him… But I think it’s something to learn from and just take on those challenges of wanting to guard the best players on the floor.”

Eddie Hearn believes Filip Hrgovic beating Moses Itauma doesn’t automatically make him a world-class heavyweight. “Massive respect to Filip Hrgovic. But let’s also get one thing straight, people are going on like Filip Hrgovic is this zombie who is unbreakable; Daniel Dubois bashed him up, David Adeleye had Hrgovic out in the fight. Moses didn’t really hurt him. So it’s not like Hrgovic is this elite guy, like top 3 or top 4 but he is a very good top 10 heavyweight” 🎥 via Sun Sport

#SEONGHWA about DPRIAN and his SKIN MV ⭐️: After the Skin music video came out, I sent New Year greetings and said hello to IAN-nim. I used a translator to say Happy New Year, that my solo music video had been released and that I’d just call him “Hyung” for ease. I said I had gotten a lot of inspiration from him and asked him to watch it if he had time, so I sent him a DM. I get a lot of motivation and inspiration from so many people, and if I were to receive a message like that, I think I’d really like it. It would feel very meaningful in terms of respect, so I think it would make me feel really good.

🎥 i feel like vernon & minghao have a very strong need to do what they want. they must’ve fought [during the production process] 🐻‍❄️ we actually had quite a bit of clashes 🎱 in the end, i sort of let him [go his way], or rather i said he can be more responsible for the music side, and me for the marketing side - like, “how can we make this project more fun?” 🐱 splitting the work like that is good 🙂‍↕️

Neemias Queta on Joe Mazzulla spending time with him in Portugal this summer: “It’s just surreal. A couple years ago, if you had said an NBA coach is coming to that specific gym just to see me and get to know me, I would have been like, ‘You gotta be kidding me.’” “He wants to make that extra step, extra effort, just to make sure you feel comfortable. And I think that’s one of the reasons why he’s such a good coach. He worries about people, and that’s why I’m running through a wall for him.”

🗣️ Martin Odegaard on playing with Bruno Guimaraes: “It was really good. Really good, really natural. Since the first day he came in, it’s been such a natural thing. “Although we had some big fights in the past with him, he’s just come into the team as a really natural part of the team. “You can see his quality. He can win the ball, he’s a fighter, but he also has so much quality on the ball. He has that calmness on the ball. He always takes the right amount of time and finds the pass. “So it was brilliant. Christos as well. Good to have new players performing like that already.” 🗣️ on how quickly his connection with Bruno developed: "I think it’s been so natural. I think the connection is already there. “You can see that he’s a top, top player. From the first second he’s in training, you feel that presence and the quality. “So I think it’s been really easy to connect with him. Brilliant player, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Most leaders tell stories that make them look good. Putin just told one where he failed. He recalled Russia in the early 2000s, when he was constantly traveling around the country and seeing firsthand how difficult life was. One evening, after a long workday, he was walking through the mud and autumn slush toward his car when an elderly woman approached him. She tried to tell him something, then suddenly fell to her knees and handed him a note. Putin promised her that he would look into it. He handed the note to his aides. And then they lost her. More than twenty years later, he still remembers that woman and openly says: "I feel ashamed even now." There is something deeply noble about carrying the memory of one ordinary woman with you for decades. But admitting publicly that you failed her, when it would be much easier to tell a story that makes you look good, says even more.

Another awesome story of the 2026 season has been Gary Woodland. After recovering from brain surgery and battling PTSD, he’s just qualified for his first Tour Championship since 2019 by finishing T4 at the BMW Championship. His press conference has it all. Emotion, celebration, and then he also had a laugh about his top off the 9th tee. Gary is playing some incredible golf and it’s so good to see him make it to East Lake. What a story it would be if he won the FedExCup! Gary Woodland PGA TOUR BMW Championship

Julius Erving talking about playing with Charles Barkley: “I kept seeing his upside. He was hard-headed. He had something to say about everything. If he didn’t play as good as he can and well as he was capable of playing or whatever, then some of the things he did wouldn’t be tolerated. But they were tolerated because, you know, he was exceptional, man. He could rebound it, take it coast to coast, make play. And for his height to rebound the way that he did, it was incredible. It was kind of disruptive because we had won the championship the year before he got there. Then the year that he got there. We had to make room for him and he almost killed Marc Iavaroni cuz he was playing the four, Charles was like that’s my spot right there. This going back to violence in the game because the next man up. Me and you man. He get Iavaroni at his back. He back him all the way out to the top of the key” (Via All the Smoke)
