🔴 Rescue coordination centre Rome orders merchant ship to break international law. The GRIMSTAD has rescued ⁓30 people in the Med & was ordered by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Rome to take the people to Libya. This is a violation of the non-refoulement principle.

In October 2021, the captain of the merchant ship Asso28 was sentenced to one year in prison in Italy for handing over refugees to the sc. Libyan Coast Guard. The maritime rescue coordination centre in Italy is now instructing the GRIMSTAD captain to break the law.

For unknown reasons, the dry cargo ship Oslo Carrier 3 did not take the sinking sailors on board. A lifeboat headed toward the Norwegian-flagged vessel, which was nearby. It might sound routine for the armed forces to everyone, but the sheer coordination required to execute such an operation within hours is something that serves as a masterclass in management. The troops simultaneously make their own units safe while continuing to rescue civilians. Alongside this, search operations are also launched for people reported missing due to the severity of the floods.

Estimated to be approximately eight months old at the time of her rescue, Tango was confiscated from a private home, where she had been restrained with a rope around her neck. Since arriving at the Cheetah Rescue and Conservation Centre (CRCC) a little more than a month ago, Tango has gained weight and started playing with toys.
