Skin to skin contact does more than comfort your little one after birth - it triggers the release of Oxytocin, also known as “the love hormone” in both parent and child. Manufactured in the brain’s hypothalamus and stored and released by the pituitary gland, Oxytocin is biology’s own version of Cupid’s arrow, promoting love, affection and caregiving behaviors in new parents. The hormone is also critical to the birthing process, triggering uterine contractions and the let down of milk in preparation for baby’s first feedings. While once common for hospitals to whisk baby away at birth for cleaning and a battery of newborn assessments, many are now modifying their processes to prioritize skin to skin contact - and bonding - letting the Oxytocin flow during what has come to be known as the “golden hour.” (The first 60 minutes of life.) The fun part of experimenting with brushes is that you have to figure out how the ink behaves first. How it spreads. How it flows. Only after that do you start thinking about texture. And honestly both parts are hard in their own way. What I tried today was adding something like a magnetic force into the ink. So while drawing, these unexpected textures start to show up.Most of the strength and density come from layering 2D Perlin noise. It’s actually really fun to play with. A lot of time goes into things no one ever notices. That’s just life :)

Dear Nigerians, "Patriotism means to stand by the country. Now more than ever, we must unite. We must unite against the ruiners of Nigeria before they bury what is left of her. Organization is the first primary weapon of the oppressed. This is the only weapon we are yet to explore, and we can not explore this until we unite. The oppressed Nigerians must organize to form a force against the ruiners of Nigeria and take back our country to have a system that is for the benefit of the Nigerian people and not a few in the position of power. President will come and go, only the people will remain. Don't give those in power today to play politics with your future. Let's unite, not necessary as one but as a team. A team with different skills, languages culture, religion and tradition, but one CAUSE regardless of our tribal differences to stand against the common enemy who have now shown to be a curse on our very own existence as an amazing people of this great nation. ~OIA✊🏿

The Tree of Life is within; the emotions and urges come from the higher dimensions of the Sefirot/Chakras/Egyptian parts of the soul. When energy flows from the left side, especially through Gevurah, that raw energy—the energy of the lion—brings anger that cannot be easily controlled. In the Egyptian system, that part of the soul is called Sekhem. From the right side, or from Chokmah and Chesed, a flow of energy brings kindness and love. There are people who receive energy only from one side, without balance. A lot of what you receive depends on the influence of the stars when you are born, and that is by design. Some are here to bring evil, some good—you need to find the balance and purify your heart.

Tel Aviv mood: These people on the beach and at the bar all know some of them could be in uniform and in battle tomorrow and that they and their loved ones are at risk of missile attacks from maniacs 1,000 miles away. They are bracing for a potentially difficult week ahead. So they try to share only good vibes. They remind each other not to be negative, not to gossip. They greet each other with extra warmth. It's very touching. Jews from all over have flown in, one told me, "I felt I should be here, now more than ever." People are on edge but resolute that things will work out for the best. A reckoning with Hezboallah and Iran always had to come, sooner or later, and there was always going to be a price to pay, but Israel will prevail, as our enemies are evil. Shabbat Shalom

Like the city leaders are intentionally trying to bring down the state And I thinks they are

Wangalla has joined a flock. Our newest orphan, at our Kaluku Neonate Unit in Tsavo, has fallen in with the resident vulturine guineafowl. She's not the first, although her predecessors preferred chasing them into an explosion of blue feathers. Wangalla's approach is much more companionable. She stands among them, plucking blades of grass with her trunk while they peck and poke around her. The birds have completely embraced her as one of their own. In 1995, 77.1% of global primary energy was provided by fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and oil). As of 2024, 76.4% still comes from fossil fuels. That's a 0.7 percentage point drop in 30 years. World governments have spent TRILLIONS of dollars on “green” energy projects, and it has barely made a dent in the energy mix (note, these figures are based on the substitution method for fair comparison, so it slightly lowers fossil fuel figures). The fact is that renewable energy sources, like them or not, are largely add-ons to existing energy sources (primarily fossil fuel and nuclear power) that provide us transient savings in optimal conditions. That may change in the future with battery backup as they become cheaper, but that still won't address the fact that oil is STILL going to be needed for lubricants, plastics, fertilizers, etc. Oil is the backbone of modern society, so even if it were to no longer to be used as fuel, it will be used in another capacity and wars will be fought over it.
