As we continue working towards creating a permanent rural immigration program, these 2 new pilots will provide pathways to permanent residence for newcomers who can help address labour shortages and want to live long term in these smaller communities. The Rural Community Immigration Pilot will allow rural communities to continue to have the ability to fill their labour shortages, and help businesses find and retain the workers they need. The Francophone Community Immigration Pilot will ensure the economic development of Francophone minority communities and increase the number of French-speaking newcomers outside of Quebec.
