In a repeat of 2006, the Lebanese resistance struck an Israeli warship 68 miles offshore, while also attacking ships in Haifa harbour and a series of occupation military bases.

⚡️⭕️ Like in 2006, this is what the Lebanese Resistance pledged : It cannot prevent Israel from entering villages because Hezbollah is a resistance group and not a classical army. But it pledges to destroy Israel's tanks, officers, and soldiers as long as Israel is inside Lebanon.

🚨🚨 Full Documentary 🚨🚨 Lebanon: The War of Resistance This short documentary explores the Lebanese resistance against the aggressions of Israel. In the aftermath of the events of October 7th 2023 does the same modus operandi await the Lebanese people? Will we see a recurrence of the events of 2006 when a heavy toll was inflicted upon the IDF in the 34 day war?

Loudspeakers from mosques across many villages in southern Lebanon carried a resistance announcement reporting an attack on the Israeli warship, a moment many said felt like a return to the days of Sayyed Nasrallah wartime broadcasts in 2006. My update tonight for Press TV 🔻 .

LOL the US can't believe their "state of the art" ship got hit by the Yemeni resistance using ballistic and cruise missiles. Yemen never lie in their press briefings so I'm inclined to believe them. This is reminiscent of Hezbollah blasting and totalling an Israeli ship in 2006

For those who claim Palestinian resistance is rooted in antisemitic hatred, it’s hard to explain why Hamas has been represented for decades by Stanley Cohen—a Jewish-American attorney. In 2006, former BBC Istanbul Bureau Chief Jody Sabral asked senior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzook: “How is it that you have a Jewish lawyer?”

U.S. Marines in a Brutal Urban Clash With Insurgents On May 20, 2006, during the Battle of Ramadi, U.S. Marines faced heavy insurgent resistance in street-by-street fighting. Marines relied on cover, suppressive fire, and coordinated movement to engage enemy positions in dense urban terrain. The M249 SAW provided sustained automatic fire while riflemen maneuvered and covered exposed positions. Ramadi served as a key insurgent stronghold in Al Anbar Governorate before coalition forces secured the city through sustained urban combat operations in 2006.

‼️Hezbollah just dropped footage: three Israeli Merkava tanks hit on the outskirts of Dibl in southern Lebanon. One soldier marked/seen running for his life. The Resistance to Merkavas… “we got a thing going on.…🎵” A long, expensive thing since 2006. Israel keeps sending tanks into Lebanon. Lebanon keeps sending them back in flames. Invasion has consequences.

Watch feminist philosopher Judith Butler insist October 7th be understood as an "uprising...against a violent state apparatus". Butler added: "you can be for or against armed resistance, you can be for or against H@mas but let us at least call it armed resistance and then we can have a debate about whether we think it's right." Butler, who is most known for pioneering the theory of gender performativity, has also in the past called for the left to engage with the Gaza ruling group and H3zbo!lah despite her own staunch advocacy of non-violent struggle. During Israel's unsuccessful 2006 war on Lebanon, she argued that both resistance groups should be understood as "part of a global left", emphasizing that this does not mean the left cannot be "critical" of those movements or "from raising the question of whether there are other options besides violence."

Their mistake was believing that by eliminating a towering figure like Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, they could end the Baloch struggle for national liberation. But history proves otherwise—every attempt to crush the Baloch resistance has only strengthened it. Nawab Bugti’s martyrdom in 2006 was meant to silence the movement, yet it became a turning point, reigniting the fight for freedom. Just as past uprisings in 1948, 1958, and 1973 failed to break the Baloch spirit, Pakistan’s brutality continues to fuel resistance. The Baloch nation has neither forgotten its leaders’ sacrifices nor given up on its right to freedom. The struggle for an independent Balochistan will persist until the chains of Pakistani subjugation are broken. #jaffar_express #Balochistan #Baloch

This scene is demoralizing for Hezbollah. An Israeli commander from the Givati Brigade stands in front of a monument to fallen Hezbollah fighters in Bint Jbeil. Control of the town carries not only operational weight but also immense psychological value. Hezbollah built a powerful mythology around Bint Jbeil, their self-proclaimed “capital of the resistance.” In May 2000, after Israel’s unilateral withdrawal from southern Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah delivered a victory speech in the town to a crowd of over 100,000, framing the withdrawal as a historic triumph of armed “resistance” over “occupation.” He famously declared that Israel was “weaker than a spider’s web.” The 2006 Lebanon War further cemented the myth. Israeli forces launched high-profile assaults to capture Bint Jbeil but failed, suffering significant casualties. The town functions as a major military hub, packed with command nodes, weapons caches, tunnels, and rocket launch sites. Its loss deals a serious blow to both Hezbollah’s military infrastructure and its carefully cultivated image as an undefeated “resistance” movement.

Who is real Shirani Baloch shown in the film Dhurandhar? In my conversation with Aditya Raj Kaul, we spoke about the possibile real-life inspiration behind the Baloch characters and what’s actually happening on ground. There are real figures in Balochistan’s history who shaped resistance, identity, and politics. One such widely respected name is Akbar Bugti, often seen as a symbolic figure for many Baloch people. His assassination in 2006 marked a turning point, intensifying sentiments and shaping narratives that continue even today. The character of Baloch Shirani may not be a direct representation, but it reflects elements of that larger reality, leadership, resistance, and conflict. That’s why the character feels real, because it draws from a reality that still continues. Credit : Jay Thadeshwar
