Must be a western thing. In the east we ski it down to the dirt, then keep skiing the dirt.

Unfortunately many of us have commitments that prevent us from skiing before 4pm on weekdays ..

Maybe a lift ticket shouldn't cost $175

Doing my bit today at Copper

Resorts close early for 1 reason. Presold season passes. The fewer days they are open the more $ they make. When resorts relied on ticket sales most stayed open till the snow melted. I skied Tahoe every yr till late May, June, sometimes July. The epic pass killed that.

spring skiing is so good and the people who live near it and don't take advantage should be forced to have their brains inspected

It's not necessary because we stop skiing, it's because we stop spending money. If there are 1000s of skiers per day buying hundreds of burgers the resort can eat the overhead required to be paid to the USFS. If there are only a few 100 buying 20 burgers a day you can't.

skied vail last week.... skied heavenly today.... hitting kirkwood tomorrow... mammoth on the way back home. spring trip is firing!

Whistler is open in May.

We skied Park City last week
