$WYFI closed a deal. 40MW. 10 years. $865M. But they don't plan to stop here, they saw a lot of demand for AI datacenters. "The depth of demand we saw for NC1 also reinforces how broad the opportunity set is for WhiteFiber." - Sam Tabar $BTBT

What is a Data Center? Should we be happy that some land has been given for a number of them to be built?

Sen. Husted blames his constituents for record number of data centers in Ohio: "We just have to realize we're in this world in which we've created the demand. We the people have created the demand for these data centers because we use all of these digital products that it processes, and if we don't want them, then don't use them. I mean, you can go back to the bunny ear antenna on your TV, you don't need a data center. But if you're connected to a wire, you're using the data center. So, understand, when we look in the mirror, we are the problem."

Dominik Tarczyński posted this from his official account. This is epic 👏 “We don't need your doctors. We don't need your engineers. Take them, take them all, and pay for them. We don't need them. You know why? Because there's zero terrorist attacks in Poland. Why? Because, because there is no illegal migration in Poland” “So don't give me this look, don't give me these arguments about the populism, because this is a fact. This is your data from Eurostat. So we don't need your engineers, we don't need your doctors. Take them. Do not, do not, do not teach us, do not, do not teach us about democracy, because we know what a democracy is. So learn from Poland. Be like Poland. Thank you very much” I pulled the data, he’s correct: Terrorist attacks in 2024 based on Europol TE-SAT data: - Italy: 20 - France: 14 - Germany: 6 - Austria: 3 - Greece: 3 - Poland: 0

We don’t have to build data centres at this scale and pace. We can develop them in a way that works for communities, not against them.

We need the data centers. We have to win the AI race. My guest for episode 5 of Counterweight is Manhattan Institute's Judge Glock. This spring he wrote about Loudoun County, VA in City Journal. Loudoun, one of the richest counties in America, with a median household income of around $170,000, has become the unlikely center of a new data center-based industrial revolution. And it's not just Loudoun. Data center construction is up about twenty times nationwide in three years, leading to an enormous political backlash. New York State imposed a moratorium on data center construction, and even Republican Greg Abbott of Texas has put a temporary pause in place. Meanwhile, speaking for myself, I’ve seen a ton of fear-mongering about them, with very little in the way of clear explanation of what the costs and benefits are and what they mean for the localities that might bring them in. I've brought Judge on to walk through in granular detail how data centers work, how Loudoun County became ground zero for the data center boom, and the recent pushback against data centers. We also talk about the unfortunate habit that AI CEOs have of seeming like the gloomiest people in the world in relation to the products they are trying to sell.

This campaign is about protecting the Wisconsin way of life. We will protect our farmland from wind, solar, and data center development. We will not sell a single acre of farmland to Communist China. And we will call moms “moms,” not “inseminated persons” in the state budget.

"E+R=O . . . Event + Response = Outcome. Here's how simple, obvious and intuitive this is. What is the only piece of this equation that any of us have control over? All we control is our response. We are responsible for everything that is in our control. Our attitude. Our mindset. Our decisions. Our opinions. Our perspectives. Our feelings. Our emotions. We are responsible for 100% of it. We are also responsible for how we respond to everything we don't control. We are responsible for everything we do control. But we are also responsible for how we choose to respond to everything we don't control."

This is a huge part of the awakening process, we didn't come here to be a part of the old systems. We came here to break them down to be rebuilt without distortion. This is why time alone is such a gift, the time to recalibrate and become more of who we are💞

I visited Northern Virginia’s “Data Center Alley” to see firsthand how out-of-control data center development can upend local communities. The trip made it even more clear why Floridians don’t want data centers in their backyards. This used to be trees and hills. Now, it’s a data center that’s ruining the peace, health, and home values of its neighbors. It’s 24/7 noise pollution. Just listen.

✨ hasanabi reacts to a political comic about himself that was published by POLITICO. He was so honored to now be part of the art that he has admired for years: "Dude, what? That's kind of dope, dude. We gotta get this printed out and framed. This is like actual Boomer shit. This means that boomers are all up in this. I don't think you guys understand how important political cartoonists are for my development. I've talked about it before but this is literally how I started learning about politics. Political cartoons, political satire is a huge part of my political development."

New Gallup Poll: 71% of Americans now oppose data centers being built in their area. When the people know what is best for our communities, yet both parties continue to ignore what we want and do what their rich donors want, it means we need a new system.
