Rest in peace, Chuck…

When I was a kid 😢I played his cassette over and over and over

🎶🎺🕊️✨

Hard core jazzers tended to put him down. It was never a competition for legitimacy to me. He made instrumental music accessible to millions. He also ushered in the jazz fusion era in pop music. Bands as diverse as Earth, WInd & Fire, Steely Dan and others stepped through that door he opened.

So grateful for the jazz refresh & revival in the late 1970's, early 80's. Grandparents had the Big Band era. We had Chuck and yes, it felt so good!

Great musicians in that band. The guitarist was phenomenal.

RIP Chuck

..may he Chase The Clouds Away wherever he may be.. RIP.. 😢

One of the few cool moments in a Marvel movie. And it featured Chuck at the heart of it: "Useless?! The man charted a top-10 hit with a flugelhorn."

Sad to hear. That was such an unexpected hit. Turned lots of people on to jazz. RIP

Oh no...! 😧 I wore his album "Feels So Good" OUT...! I loved playing guitar along with it. RIP Sir, and thanks for all the great musical memories...

Is his passing recent?

Today

Man that sounds so smooth. Chuck was Epic back then 😞🥀

Another one? Celebs are dropping like flies.

RIP legend 🙏🏽

@pursertrust Man, these folks are checking out all at once… 😔

Love this. And Grant Geissman's solo. RIP Mr Mangione.

@HerbAlpert

went to Oakland A's games...the stadium broadcaster Roy Steele would run through the Sponsor ads and Chuck's tune was just humming along...a horrible owner removed this from my memory, RIP Chuck! You were my childhood. Thanks for the superb tune!

RIP

tragically underrated.

I swear he looks like the Jesus in the famous paintings, even in the early English drawings, bibles, tiles, and tapestries too. What if he was Jesus just coming down to be a musician and hang out? No offense to anyone living or a deity.

Grant Geissman was a beast on jazz guitar. RIP Chuck.

😢😢😢

First I heard of it. It's really crazy the last few weeks with all these public figures passing. RIP Chuck.

Legend

Great 👍 musician grew up with his songs❤️😊🎶

R.I.P Chuck

I think it was Al Hirt who said that Chuck Mangioni played an out of tune French horn.
