Are Reform UK copying Restore Britain? After Rupert Lowe launched Restore Britain as a national political party, Reform UK and their surrogates in the media spent two weeks calling Restore and their supporters neo-Nazis, far right, incels, and ethnonationalists. But now, Zia Yusuf, cosplaying as Shadow Home Secretary, is repeating verbatim Restore's talking points on immigration and Christian heritage. Reform are promising mass deportations — the same policy Nigel Farage called "very grave, dark and dangerous", and expelled Rupert from the party for proposing. Laila Cunningham insists Britain is a secular state, while Zia Yusuf says Christianity is "core to the history and the DNA of the country”, and without it "the country is not a country, it’s just an economic zone." My take on Rupert Lowe MP’s decision to turn Restore Britain Redirect into a political force and Ben Habib’s decision to merge Advance UK into it. I sincerely hope Rupert does the right thing and adopts Advance UK’s constitution, utilises its structure and makes Ben either chairman or deputy leader. I think the way Rupert has gone about this is wrong and more fitting of Nigel Farage than Rupert. This cannot go down the path of Reform UK. I sincerely hope that Rupert trying to force his leadership is a combination of ensuring the country is well looked after and a trauma response to the way Reform treated him, not a drive for personal power. Ben, the entire Advance UK college and the British people as a whole will all be watching. I will be watching.
