CSS Trick! 🎃 You can create a wavey border for elements by layering masks 🎭 Used to create this ghost! 👻 Check the video for an exploding view 🫶 .👻 { --size: 20px; mask: radial-gradient(var(--size) at bottom, transparent 97%, #000), radial-gradient(var(--size) at 25% 50%, #000 97%, transparent); mask-repeat: repeat-x; mask-size: calc(2 * var(--size)) 100%, calc(4 * var(--size)) calc(2 * var(--size)); mask-position: 50% calc(100% - var(--size)), calc(50% - var(--size)) 99%; } That code looks kinda scary! 👻 This is one way you could do things. Check the video again or explode in the demo. One mask cuts out circles from the bottom of the element. The other adds overlaid circles back. And that overlap creates the wavey line you want for the ghost 🤙 Using a custom property you can write once and not have to touch again. Update the custom property to update the wave size as shown in the video 🎬 The last piece of the puzzle is animating the mask-position to create that animation @ keyframes flow { to { mask-position: calc(50% + (var(--size) * 4)) calc(100% - var(--size)), calc((50% - var(--size)) + (var(--size) * 4)) 99%; } } If you play with the demo, you may find some Easter eggs! Shake the ghost and double-tap it 😉 Happy Halloween! 🎃 CodePen.IO link below! 👇

CSS Trick ⚡️ (˗ˏˋ rogie ˎˊ˗ challenge edition 🤙) You can create this secret code reveal with only CSS using :has() and trig functions 🔥 .digit::hover + .digit, .digit:has(+ .digit:hover) { --active: var(--lerp-1); } :root { --lerp-1: calc(sin(50deg)); } .digit { scale: calc(var(--active) + 0.5); } There are a couple of moving parts. They also dictate the transition duration .digit { transition: scale calc(((1 - var(--active, 0)) + 0.2) * 1s); } When a digit is hovered, then you can set the --active custom property based on the digit position 🤙 The digit that is hovered. .digit:hover { --active: var(--lerp-0); } And the digit on either side of that hovered digit .digit:is(:hover, :focus-visible) + .digit, .digit:has(+ .digit:is(:hover, :focus-visible)) { --active: var(--lerp-1); } We can select the previous sibling using :has() and the next sibling with the sibling combinator (+) And that's it! ⭐️ That's how you create these hover scale interactions with CSS 🙌 We're jus' waiting on Firefox for :has() support. When that lands, it'll likely break the internet 😅 CodePen.IO link below! 👇

CSS Trick 🎞️ You can create an infinite marquee/carousel animation without duplicate items 🤙 li { --destination: calc(var(--idx) * -100%); } @keyframes slide { to { translate: var(--destination) 0;}} Animate the items, not the list 😎 Here's the next ! 👇 The main trick here is animating the items and not the list. HERE IT IS! NEW and UPDATE BATTLE UI! • Enemy Pokemon ARE CLOSER TO THE SCREEN NOW • HP Bars are attached to the pokemon instead of filling the screen (Looks better for doubles or 1v10+) • Battle Actions button design changed to be more square (Old design made sense for the old borders) • Moves match the battle actions but also show the TYPING icons as well as color • Hovering over a move when the enemy pokemon is registered in the pokedex will reveal above its HP Bar if the move is effective or now • HP Bars visually reflect damage, they shake and flash and receive cracks depending on damage and then burst when HP drops to 0 • STAT Stages will show up as icons now to see in real time what the Pokemon are at so you can plan better * If a pokemon levels up or is ready to evolve, there will be an on screen notification to tell you

Most of “bad peptide reactions” start at reconstitution. So before you ever use a peptide, this is the setup step you need to get right. Comment "CALC" and I'll send you the calculator I use for dosing.

As the Chairperson of the African Union Committee of Five(C5) responsible for overseeing the process of the implementation of the revitalised peace agreement, we left South Sudan with renewed hope that peace will prevail. And, that a process of inclusive national dialogue involving all the signatories to the revitalized agreement will be undertaken, and that all the processes that will move from now will remain credible, and that all parties will be involved and be allowed to participate in this process. It is important that the elections should be inclusive, should be transparent, should be fair, and the security environment should be conducive to conduct free and fair elections.

CSS Tip! ✨ You can create these parallax effects and image cross-fades with scroll-driven animations 🤙 img { animation: fade; animation-timeline: view(); mix-blend-mode: plus-lighter } img:last-of-type { animation-direction: reverse; } @keyframes fade { to { opacity: 0; }} This one's fun! 😁 The trick with the cross-fading image is to make use of one animation that runs at the same time on two images inside a container. You use the same animation, animation-timeline, and animation-range. But, you use animation-direction: reverse on one of the images so they go in the opposite direction 🫶 The use of mix-blend-mode: plus-lighter; produces a better cross-fade result 💯 A viewTimeline (view()) works because you know that both images are the same height. The range you can use is img { animation-timeline: view(); animation-range: cover 45% cover 55%; } That means when the image has covered 45% of the scrollport (In this case, the window), start the animation. And finish when it has covered 55% 🎬 How about the slight parallax? This is a trick with calc(). You know the top of the small image and the big image line up. And you can do this by absolutely placing the caption outside of the small image. The trick is to translate the small image by a distance so it lines up with the bottom of the big image. You can do that like this :root { --catch-up: calc( var(--big-height) - var(--small-height) ); } @keyframes move { to { translate: 0 var(--catch-up); }} Then drive that animation with a scroll-driven animation using the container of both images as the driver 🤙 /* section contains both images */ section { view-timeline: --container; } .img-fader { animation: catch-up both linear; animation-timeline: --container; animation-range: 50vh calc(100vh + (var(--big-height) * 0.25)); } That's it! Scroll-driven image cross-fading and parallax effects without any JavaScript. This demo will work in all browsers as there is some JavaScript in place where the API isn't supported 🤙 To do that, it uses GSAP ScrollTrigger 🏆 As always, any questions, requests, etc. hit me up! 🤙 CodePen.IO link below 👇

$CSS Tip! 🤙 You can use mask-composite and some JavaScript to create this pointer proximity following glow border ✨ .glow { mask-composite: intersect; mask-clip: padding-box, border-box; mask: linear-gradient(#0000, #0000), conic-gradient(#0000 0deg, #fff, #0000 45deg); } The trick is to mask a background-image with a combination of mask layers. mask-composite: intersect; means the mask used will be the intersection of the layers 🔥 use source-in, xor; in browsers that don't support intersect; In this demo, you can use pseudoelements and rely on scoped custom properties to do a lot of the heavy lifting for you 🙌 Once you've masked the background, you need to update the starting angle of the conic-gradient on pointermove 👆 You can work that out by getting the center point of each card and then calculating the angle between that and the pointer with Math.atan2 🤓 let ANGLE = Math.atan2( event?.y - CARD_CENTER[1], event?.x - CARD_CENTER[0] ) * 180 / Math.PI ANGLE = ANGLE < 0 ? ANGLE + 360 : ANGLE; CARD.style.setProperty('--start', ANGLE + 90) You plug that into your conic-gradient mask as a custom property accounting for --spread ⚡️ conic-gradient(from calc((var(--angle) - (var(--spread) * 0.5)) * 1deg), #000 0deg, #fff, #0000 calc(var(--spread) * 1deg)); To get the blur, you apply a blur to the glow container on each card 🤙 .glows { filter: blur(calc(var(--blur) * 1px); } That's it! CSS Tip! 📜 You can create scroll-driven micro-interactions with animation-timeline and custom properties 🔥 .search { animation: shrink; animation-timeline: scroll(); animation-range: 0 calc(var(--header-height) * 0.5); } @keyframes shrink { to { width: calc(100% - var(--button-size); } } The --header-height is being used to dictate the container height for the header. You can use that for the animation-range used across different scroll animations 🤙 For another example, you can animate the box-shadow reveal on the header once the search has stuck 🍡 header { animation: shadow; animation-timeline: scroll(); animation-range: var(--header-height) calc(var(--header-height) * 1.5); } @keyframes shadow { to { box-shadow: 0 5px 10px hsl(0 0% 0%); } } Then you have the little extras! 🧸🎈 Everything powered by the scroll() animation-timeline which hooks into the page scroll. Expeditioners, Here’s an extended combat clip from early in the game, featuring a Nevron called Évèque. This footage contains no story spoilers—just pure combat. 🤝 Évèque begins combat with multiple shields, meaning the first hits in combat will be blocked. This Expeditioner uses the free-aim system to target its weak point, which would usually be an excellent opening move. However, due to the shields, the impact is minimal. That said, thanks to an equipped Picto, the attack at least applies stackable burn. You can see the full power of parries and the way that perfect timing can shape your encounters. For both parrying and dodging, you’ll rely on audiovisual cues from enemies to master the timing. These change quite drastically between enemies, the speed that they are attacking, or the spell they are casting. When Évèque builds up chroma, it can use it to unleash a devastating attack that can be much harder to counter. The game offers three difficulty modes. Story Mode is more forgiving when it comes to dodge and parry timing. Expeditioner and Expert modes are more challenging, and increase the damage inflicted by enemies. As you progress, you’ll unlock new skills and Pictos, which will expand your moveset and enhance the effects of your dodges and parries. Damage is increased or bonuses are applied upon landing perfect hits, and for accessibility, an auto-QTE setting is available for these. What would you like to see more of next?

CSS Tip! 🎠 You can create a responsive infinite marquee animation with container queries and no duplicate items 🤙 li{ animation: slide; } @keyframes slide { to { translate: 0% calc(var(--i) * -100%);}} The trick is animating the items, not the list 😎 More tricks 👇 To get this one working, you need to animate the items and not the list (Watch the video first?). Each item needs to know its row index (--i) in the list and the parent needs to know how many rows are in the list: ul { --count: 12; } li:nth-of-type(1), li:nth-of-type(2) { --i: 0; } li:nth-of-type(3), li:nth-of-type(4) { --i: 1; } Once you have that, translate each item based on its row index in the list li { translate: 0% calc((var(--count) - var(--i)) * 100%); } Now for the animation. The key here is that each row has an animation-delay calculated from its index (--i). That number is offset to make it negative so the animation start is offset ✨ ul { --duration: 10s; } li { --delay: calc((var(--duration) / var(--count)) * (var(--i) - 8)); animation: slide var(--duration) var(--delay) infinite linear; } Make sure to wrap that animation in: @media (prefers-reduced-motion: no-preference) { ... } Lastly, the fun parts! 🤓 To create the "vignette" mask. Use a layered mask on the container 😷 .scene { --buff: 3rem; height: 100%; width: 100%; mask: linear-gradient(transparent, white var(--buff) calc(100% - var(--buff)), transparent), linear-gradient(90deg, transparent, white var(--buff) calc(100% - var(--buff)), transparent); mask-composite: intersect; } To create the 3D skewed effect, use a chained transform (Try toggling it in the demo ⚡️): .grid { transform: rotateX(20deg) rotateZ(-20deg) skewX(20deg); } As for the responsive part, use container queries! 🔥 article { container-type: inline-size; } When the article (card) is narrower than 400px update the grid and animation settings 🤙 Double the rows means double the duration! @container (width < 400px) { .grid { --count: 12; grid-template-columns: 1fr; } li:nth-of-type(1) { --i: 0; } li:nth-of-type(2) { --i: 1; } li:nth-of-type(3) { --i: 2; } li:nth-of-type(4) { --i: 3; } li { --duration: 20s; } } CSS has the magic to be able to update those animations at runtime based on your custom property values 😎 An added bonus in this demo is that it doesn't require any JavaScript at all, for any of it 🤯 We can use CSS :has() for those toggles that update the styles, even the theme toggle! 🫶 Any questions, let me know! Giannis will take Nikola Jovic’s game AND confidence to a new level: “You were playing good. Translates very well to the NBA too. The first couple of weeks, months into the season, the space will be so much open… and the decisions will be way easier for you.”

To everyone affected by the storm and tornado damage in Illinois, you are not alone. I was on the ground in Kankakee County to survey the damage from this week and meet with those impacted. You have the full support of the State to help with rescue and recovery.

This is by far my favourite minute of the $OPEN house. For anyone who doesn't understand what $OPEN wants to do, the CEO gives you a tell right here. This is happening in real time right now. This man is a genius. Basically $OPEN wants to own everything when it comes to buying and selling a home, the whole chain. As he says in the clip: "The buying, the selling, the mortgage and the insurance." So they can offer a seller a price he or she can't refuse (given perks like speed, certainty, and other soft attributes a traditional broker just cannot guarantee). They can offer the buyer a fair price, with the same perks. Speed, simplicity, certainty. Their AI mortgage gives the buyer the best price on the market and hooks the buyer for life. And then insurance on top of that. And there you go! A loyal and happy customer for life. As Kaz explains further. The easier this process becomes, the easier it is to move, more demand will be created. Thus more customers. And the loop continues. Now tell me, what company can compete with $OPEN when this is done? (and it is happening right now). Just the moat of $OPEN will be worth an insane amount of money.

$CSS Tip! 💫 You can create this responsive perspective warp animation with 3D CSS and container queries ✨ (Video reveals trick 👀) .warp { container-type: size; perspective: 100px; transform-style: preserve-3d; resize: both; overflow: hidden; } Couple of tricks in this one 🤓 The main idea is to create a tunnel (an open-ended cube). On each side of the tunnel, use linear-gradient to create the grid lines ✨ .side { background: linear-gradient(#fff 0 1px, transparent 1px 5%) 50% 0 / 5% 5%, linear-gradient(90deg, #fff 0 1px, transparent 1px 5%) 50% 50% / 5% 5%; } To position each side, you rotate on the x-axis by 90deg. Each side would become invisible at this point. So you give the scene perspective 😉 .warp__side--top { width: 100cqi; height: 100cqmax; transform-origin: 50% 0%; transform: rotateX(-90deg); } The cool part here is that you want to make each side the same height. But the container is responsive. So you can use a container query and make sure each side is 100cqmax tall 🫶 Then the "beams". Each side contains "beams". They have different colors, sizes, and positions, and move at different speeds ⚡️ We can control that through scoped custom properties. .beam { width: 5%; position: absolute; top: 0; left: calc(var(--x, 0) * 5%); aspect-ratio: 1 / 2; background: linear-gradient( hsl(var(--hue) 80% 60%), transparent ); translate: 0 100%; animation: warp calc(var(--speed, 0) * 1s) calc(var(--delay, 0) * -1s) infinite linear; } The magic here is though that a beam's animation is as basic as translating it from the top of the side to the bottom. And you can get that distance with a container query again 🔥 @keyframes warp { 0% { translate: -50% 100cqmax; } 100% { translate: -50% -100%; } } And that is pretty much it! A cool warp animation effect using 3D CSS and container queries ⚡️ If you have any questions, let me know ᵔᴥᵔ CodePen.IO link below! 👇$

JUST IN: Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum will be announcing retaliatory tariffs on American products on Sunday. "There is no motive, reason, or justification to support this decision that will affect our peoples and nations." "It is inconceivable that no thought is given to the damage that will be caused both to U.S. citizens and companies by the increase in the prices of articles produced in our country, as well as the damage that will be caused by stopping the creation of jobs in both countries."
