Rewatching this episode and I’m just reminded why Etheria is STILL the best arc in the entire Encantadia saga. It’s this moment when Amihan stops Raquim from pursuing Mine-a, fully aware she’s hurting both her parents to delay their love—just to make sure Pirena is born.

Even if it means letting that painful chapter with Hagorn unfold again. Even if it means preserving a version of history that caused her mother so much pain. Reminder that Pirena is no longer the kontrabida in this arc but she’s still carrying everything that happened before.

So when she realizes she exists because her sister made that sacrifice, ugggh. Full-circle moment. Etheria didn’t have to go this hard, but it did. It could’ve just been a time-travel side quest to save Cassandra, their future granddaughter.

But instead, it became a story about how changing the past comes with consequences. How memory and emotion and history are all connected. The Sang’gres go back thinking they’re fixing one thing—only to realize they’re unraveling everything that made them who they are.

It’s about preserving what matters, even when it hurts and about choosing love, even when it isn’t deserved. The bittersweet part is Pirena wasn’t born out of love—not from Hagorn, not from Mine-a. But she was born because Amihan loved her enough to carry the weight of it.

It gets even more complex if you remember that, in the previous arc, Pirena wanted Amihan dead. Yet here, in the past, Amihan is literally risking her family’s happiness and her own future for the sister who once tried to kill her. Just beautiful, intelligent writing. Ugggh!
