unfathomable to me that this show contains Tituss Burgess AND Jane Krakowski and is not regarded universally as the funniest thing ever put to screen

One of the great joys of rewatching Mad Men is confirming Pete Campbell is one of the funniest, craziest, most neurotic characters in TV history, and that Vincent Kartheiser's line delivery is flawless. The scene that kicks off with him screaming "DRAPER!" is just chef's kiss.

💬 how was australia? 🐈 australia was honestly… i kind of want to live there someday. the weather was just so good, seriously. melbourne was amazing. of course, it’s great to visit various countries, and i liked all the different countries but australia, since it was my first time going there this time.. wow, it was just so great. it felt so healing, like that kind of vibe. the weather was so good, first of all. 💬 did you go fishing? 🐈 yeah, i did~

Quentin Tarantino says the biggest difference between TV shows and movies is that great films stay with you for life. “Everyone talks about how great television is now, and I agree, a lot of it is really good.” “But at the end of the day, it’s still television to me.” “I watched Yellowstone and thought it was fantastic.” “Kevin Costner was great, the writing was strong, and I got completely caught up in it.” “But after a few seasons, I realized it was still basically a soap opera.” “You learn everyone’s backstory, their relationships, and then you just follow what happens next.” “You become invested in the characters.” “That doesn’t mean it’s the same thing as a great movie.” “With television, you get caught up in the drama of the moment.” “But five years later, you usually don’t remember much of it.” “A great movie is different.” “You remember the story.” “You remember specific scenes.” “You remember how it made you feel.” “It builds toward an emotional climax that stays with you for the rest of your life.”

Glenn Beck: 15 minutes worth your time This is the first time since FDR the world’s resources are back under the American umbrella. Yes; it’s about oil… it’s about ALL of it — we’re going to look back at this one day and realize just how significant it was, and just how close we were to destruction

I didn’t think The King of Queens was going to be a big hit! Not because I didn’t love Kevin James or think he was great — we had instant chemistry. And not because I didn’t think the writers were great; they were amazing. But by the time I got cast in The King of Queens, I had filmed a ton of pilots and been cast in a bunch of TV shows that ultimately got canceled. So I had become cynical and just assumed it wouldn’t work out. It’s been 27 years since The King of Queens premiered, and it’s still one of the top-rated shows in syndication. We are so grateful for all of you.

It was a year ago that Ed Mylett and I did this interview on his amazing podcast that launched “The One Truth” message and lessons around the world! I had just finished writing the book and it was the first time sharing them on a podcast. The feedback I received was like no other and 6 months later “The One Truth” book was released. Since that time, it’s been incredible to hear from all the people who have integrated the principles and teachings into their life, work and team. I hope you listen to the podcast, January 8, 2023, and read the book. They will change the way you think and elevate your thinking forever.

Richard Gere explains why "Babette’s Feast" (1987) is one of his favourite movies: "One of my all-time favorites is 'Babette’s Feast' (1987). It’s hard to pinpoint exactly why. It’s very pure. It’s not tricky at all; the filmmaking is almost invisible. I think for the most part, it feels like there are non-actors in the piece — although I’m sure they’re actors — but it’s not an actor-y piece at all. It’s just beautifully conceived with a really generous heart at its center. It just really moves me, I saw it again last week. It holds up; it’s the purity and the simplicity of it. And the sentiment of community and excellence. The idea of excellence and generosity as real things. Something, obviously, that’s in danger these days. The idea of truth and excellence and compassion. And kind of a willingness to accept the other. Forgive. So I think it’s a really deep, timeless film." ("Richard Gere’s Five Favorite Films", Kerr Lordygan, Rotten Tomatoes, 2017)

I think about this bro from time to time, the thought and effort he put into this one. Taking a picture of that hallway from just the right angle, going home, printing it off, attaching it to a hat and coming all the way back, waiting for just the right moment...
