.Rex Chapman🏇🏼 explains why he believes there are so many good white international NBA players, but we haven't seen a white American player named to an All-NBA team in 10 years: "'You can't play that sport, it doesn't suit your race.' That's not how [European players] are brought up.... show more

@RexChapman A lot of good North American white basketball players come from remote places where they didn't grow up around blacks, like John Stockton from Spokane and Steve Nash from Vancouver Island. Whites tend to mature physically later, so not having to compete much with blacks can help.

@RexChapman I've also heard that European kids play way fewer games and spend more time practicing. My limited experience with American AAU hoop is that it's games, games, games all the time compared to the amount of practice time. Interested in other thoughts on this.

@RexChapman Our development program (AAU) isn't designed for white kids to show what they got. It's about being an athlete and if don't fit that mold, well...
@RexChapman What's the difference between AAU, for basketball and travel ball for baseball? Whites dominate baseball travel ball but not AAU basketball? It's more than showboat and style. If whites played AAU, you would see the same level of achievement they have in baseball. Rex is right

@RexChapman White kids and their parent don’t want to be exposed to the toxic trash that is ghetto black culture, so they avoid basketball

@RexChapman I had this debate weeks ago. Last white American drafted in top five that was decent… KEITH VAN HORN

@RexChapman Chet will likely change that stat in the coming years, Flagg probably not too far behind him.

@RexChapman I blame AAU and the showboating style. Europeans are fundamentally better players.

@RexChapman Gonna need to get the fact checked by @Steve_Sailer

@RexChapman Enter Cooper Flagg. He will be a serious problem.
