Urgent rescue efforts are underway to extract seven people trapped in a flooded cave in central Laos, according to Laotian state media. The seven people entered the cave on May 20 searching for gold and were trapped inside the cave after heavy rain triggered flash flooding and blocked their exit. Authorities and villagers have been working to pump water out of the cave, but rescue teams have not been able to reach the group. CBS News’ Matt Gutman has more.
