Now it makes more sense why he was panting so much when he met up with Kinger despite him never getting tired at any other point in the series, he wasn't tired, he was still composing himself as he was getting back to them.

Seeing this old clips, it really does explain how the abstraction even happened He lost the one thing keeping him sane: The chaos. Once he realized he couldnt just shut his voices by causing chaos in Caine's adventures, he just lost it (+ everything else tbh xd)
