I'm a huge Mitch Rob fan. But NYK did the right thing. Mitch Rob became less valuable to the NYK when they started running the offense through Towns. But if it's Bronson hero ball Mitch Rob has a lot of value I think this is a clear indicator of what they look like next year

If Mitch had never fired Rich Paul and he was still his agent, he'd be singing a completely different tune about Dolan refusing to go into the second apron to keep Mitch.

This is genuinely a fucking asinine take by Max.

Max got it wrong here… you cannot go into the second apron for a player that is playing 60 games at best! Especially when you got KAT and JB paydays coming down the pike

max has NO idea what he is talking about here.

Rich is right and Max has no idea what he’s talking about. The second apron is way more than just a financial penalty. This guy just has Dolan Derangement Syndrome.

Saying we need to win again to validate this championship is ridiculous. That narrative didn't exist for any of the other teams that won recently. It's been 53 years can we just enjoy this championship?!

Max I super disagree with you. I love Mitch but you don’t go into the second apron for a player like Mitch. Especially with the rules and regulations on frozen draft picks and not able to trade. Not for a player like Mitch

Other than the starting 5 you’re not going in the 2nd apron for a backup big. Max stop letting your hate for Dolan blind you for your takes

Max Kellerman is a clown.

@maxkellerman hated the Knicks & Dolan for years snuck his ass back on bandwagon we let it ride & now here he is talking trash about Dolan. Your comment is disingenuous because we know Dolan can pay the tax its the restrictions of the 2nd apron he doesn’t want to mess with smh 🤦🏾♂️

Paid to talk hoops, but fails to understand that owner not wanting to cripple chances of extending KAT and Brunson together just to retain a backup center who shoots free throws like my doorman is a decent idea… get this bozo away from a mic.

It’s the multi-year penalty. Knicks are going into the 2nd apron for Brunson’s extension

I see why Stephen A got him off first take

Not the biggest dolan fan but can’t call the man cheap with all the money he’s paid out over the years trying to get this franchise right

@maxkellerman simply refuses to let go of the Dolan hate… Time to pivot & find another angle to hate Dolan… YOU WERE WRONG MAX!!! You lost bruh! Move on!!!!

Max Keller man here he is I love it. Because when the Knicks were irrelevant in the nba because they didn’t manage money correctly when it came to roster construction and didn’t have cap space to sign anyone when they need it to and now they doing it and it’s a problem

RP should keep his mouth shut about Mitch. He’d be out there hoeing him out for a payday if Mitch didn’t fire his midget ass. First of all Celtics signed Mitch to start so he’s talking out his 🍑 Mitch may be an opp now and fuck him once we lined up across him but fuck rp 4ever

Max is 1000 percent correct and rich is being an agent who can’t Burn billionaire Bridges

This is so stupid max lmao

Yeah it’s not about money out of Dolan’s pocket 😒 It’s about future roster flexibility. The 2nd Apron locks your roster up - you don’t do that for a part time often injured Center

I hate that people say the decision was about the money. The Knicks will be going into the second apron eventually, but when Brunson has his extension due. Anything before that is a waste and hurts the team more than it helps it due to the restrictions

I agree with Rich- he also wants to play nice with Dolan bc we all know that’s where they want LeBron

The real argument in favor of this, despite how you may feel about James Dolan, is that it’s not the money. He’s right that the second apron is a disaster. Unless you start arguing that it is about the money, remember that he’s still paying Tom Thibodeau to not coach. Millions. A choice that is largely responsible for us winning a championship. So you can hate him all you want but the fact of the matter is that he is very specifically done things financially to help this team. Immense cost.

Max is not acknowledging the penalties and restrictions that come with going into the second apron. If it was just financial penalties I think Dolan would've cut a check.

@JDSportsTalkNY Max is right btw.

Another reason we don’t need LeBron here. Whole camp cooked

23 Postseason 27 mpg 6ppg 9rpg 24 postseason 19 mpg 3ppg 7rpg 25 postseason 20 mpg 5ppg 7rpg 26 postseason 13mpg 4ppg 5rpg The man has played less, scored less, rebounded less every year in the playoffs and narrowly escaped a self inflicted injury keeping him out of the finals. I’m not seeing it Max. Shamet, Alvarado, Duece, Clarkson, all had more meaningful impact. One clutch offensive rebound, a late game contest he’s lucky Wemby missed because his reaction time wasn’t great. We can find 5-7 rebounds per game in the postseason for a lot less than 15M.

That’s how the rich stay rich but Rich P understands that

I feel like with the Knicks history of luck the moment we crossed into the second apron for Mitch he’d somehow get a season ending injury or something like the whole staudermeir situation.

Max is just a hater. I get wanting to keep Mitch but his argument makes no sense. I am glad we didn’t go into the second apron. Knicks in 5 in 2027.

too much money for a backup big i agree. even if he has impact on the boards he has way too many flaws as a player. 2nd apron is for a higher impact player than that

Max is an idiot!

It’s definitely a fair point the core is back like it or not Mitch is replaceable
