#LuoYunxi talked about Long drama and Short drama at Star Awards 2026. He said at the end of the day, whether it’s a short drama or long drama, it’s just different way of telling a story, both have their own strengths, as long as it touches people, that’s what matters.

“A very strong aspect of storytelling is to look around and see what’s going on. It’s fine to be political.” It’s always a pleasure listening to Kleber Mendonça Filho about film and politics.

I know it’s been around for a while, but if you haven’t watched Outlander, you should. It’s brilliant. Compelling characters, sharp script and great storytelling. The fact that it is set in the Scottish Highlands, Paris and North Carolina helps as well.

Chinese actor Zhang Linghe sat down with the Global Times in Beijing for an exclusive interview, fresh off the overseas success of his drama Pursuit of Jade. He said that when audiences connect with a Chinese story across language barriers, it’s because the drama speaks to something universal – truth, goodness, and beauty. He sees drama as both a doorway and a bridge, and he hopes more people will cross it to discover how beautiful and strong today’s China truly is.

#JingBoran #TheEarlySpring #早春晴朗 🎤 “Why do you think The Early Spring has been able to connect with audiences around the world?” Jing Boran: “I think this drama is like a pair of jeans. From a fashion perspective, jeans are something that will never go out of style. I think love is the same. Love is a universal language; it doesn’t need too much explanation. I’ve seen a lot of comments about this drama from audiences both in China and overseas, and I think it’s they who have given this story so much room for interpretation. So many beautiful interpretations. I think we should keep trying to communicate through different kinds of ‘languages.’ Storytelling itself is a language. The way characters express themselves and the growth of the characters are also a kind of language. And in this drama, fashion and aesthetics are also a kind of language, because fashion itself is closely connected to our lives. Just like this pair of jeans.” 👖
