In the short term, as a consequence of the Iran war: - Countries have to sell gold to fund domestic needs - Higher interest rates make the USD more attractive vs gold In the long term: - The US can't afford high rates - Debt-to-GDP is too high - Deficits are surging Which will result in massive money printing and a severe loss of purchasing power for the USD in the coming years, reminiscent of the 70s, which will be bullish for gold and other hard assets. Most retail investors don't realize this - and exactly why you can capitalize on it. Gold miners. If gold rises 10%, miners tend to rise 20-30%. The reason why is simple. Costs to extract gold are relatively fixed. When the gold price rises, the gap between what it costs to mine and what they can sell it for widens fast. That margin increase is why every miners outperform gold in bull markets. Right now, miners are making more money than at any point in recent history. And yet the shares outstanding in major gold mining ETFs have actually gone down this year. Retail money hasn't moved into it yet. If you hold gold and you've been wondering whether there's a way to get more out of the same investment, miners are worth looking at. One thing to keep in mind. That same leverage works in reverse. If gold pulls back, miners fall harder and faster. What makes them attractive on the way up works against you on the way down. Risk management is important here.
