i didnt notice this originally but the totally fabricated origin story IS different. instead of immediately working on the portal gun, he gets checked by paramedics, goes down a depressive spiral for a few weeks/months, and only THEN fixes the gun.

I wasn't really a fan of hiw Rick just gave it to Morty. I think it'd have been better if Morty swipped it off Rick and was like "will this let me see your stupid backstory" then did the sequence

Such a shame that this was shown exactly how Justin felt about the audience: Angry and rushed. It deserved a full episode. But no, they had to make a statement of how much they despised the audience and what the show was becoming.
