If the recording is required by corporate for driver safety and mutual consent is required for recording, then there's really only one solution; end the ride otherwise the business is open to legal action. Next time maybe he'll keep his mouth shut.

The camera is there to protect you and the driver when someone, say’s the driver did something they didn’t do and to protect the passenger if the driver does something he is not suppose to do people lie the camera doesn’t lie.

Cab driving is one of the most dangerous jobs in America because you never know who's getting in that back seat. The moment you ask for cameras off for privacy in a cab I'm assuming you're up to something.

I can see if the passenger pushed the issue, but it seemed like just a general question that didn't warrant cancelling the ride.. It should be on the discretion of the driver, not a policy ( if it is)

I fully agree. Except for the part about him insisting it be turned off. He did not. He asked if it could be turned off and then just asked about why not. He never mentioned turning it off again after his initial ask. The driver could have let him know that without his camera, he has to cancel the ride. I'd be a little peeved myself. The driver is a d*ck. The customer should have went about his business instead of arguing about it.
