#Ridge: Why can't there be an open debate about the single market & customs union...? Wes Streeting: "I think people have moved on... there's no appetite to litigate those arguments... lower growth is a fact of life we have to deal with..." #politicshub

He's wrong.A lot of people have NOT MOVED ON.

@UKLabour not liking this. @wesstreeting you're misreading the room massively. Everywhere I look people wanting their EU membership back. Polls all in favour of it. A lot of voters Labour inherited voted for you wanting that "change" you talk about. @LibDems bang that EU drum.

Brexit: we shit in our pants and we just have to make the most of it 😜

Saying we have to accept low growth because Brexit is shit, but you don’t want to do anything about it even though you are in government with a massive majority and in a position to do something about it? That’s just bollocks

@CraigFo69062464 He’s so so so so so wrong. What’s worse, he must know it too.

Can't wait to kick out the Labour Party. Labour are going to go the way of the Tories. Impaled on their Brexit hubris.

put FPTP in the bin. we need Proportional Representation, otherwise our elections will continue to be used to spin a false narrative, massively misrepresenting the true intentions of voters.

There problem is that about 30% of the English Electorate would vote for Brexit tomorrow & the likes of Farage & bj's eyes would light up with the division they could exploit. English Voters make up the vast majority of the UK Electorate so whilst Scotland, NI & even Wales now have got these grifters & right wing nutjobs sussed, only 70% of the English Electorate have woken up. I'd rejoin tomorrow & it would be a huge benefit for the entire UK however Starmer will need at least two terms to sort the chaos out & still not be able to so he can let Brexit become the main issue again.Certainly not now. In the meantime he needs to get far closer to the EU on issues like Trade, Crime, Immigration & Defence & he will IN TIME. That doesn't mean next week, month or year but he will

Who wants to invest in a country prepared to self-harm to such an astonishing extent in the name of ‘the will of the people’ on the basis of an advisory poll built on lies with a wafer-thin majority? Talking about a 'sweet spot' in all this mess is derisory and laughable.

Except, Wes Streeting, there wasn't an open debate from @UKLabour because your party shut it down by saying "No" to the Single Market and "No" to the Customs Union. So, that also means "No" to the EEA as well. That isn't an "open debate". 😑
