Right now, we have a tax code that forces firefighters and teachers to pay a higher share of their income than many billionaires and major corporations. We need to change that - because our economy requires it, and because it is simply the right thing to do.

Our economy did well when its GDP was significantly driven by tax revenue. Kenyans felt it then and remember it now. In comparison, a GDP where debt replaced taxes, has crippled our economy, and Kenyans have felt it. We know the right thing to do, and the right way to go. It is going to be difficult to create genuine wealth in this country if we let the boda boda folk be the ones making political choices for us because we think we are more special and politics is beneath us. That attitude is what has let us to where we are right now. It needs to stop. We need to have the right conversations. We need to read the Constitution, the penal code, the PFM Act. We do not have a choice at all other than this.
