Would the majority of 'Right-Wingers' on this website consider the Sephiroth, aka 'Kabbalah' [Jewish Neo-Platonic Mysticism] to be 'Right-Wing'? Not from my experience! Everyone on here seems to hate that stuff and make it part of their conspiracies...

Who was the villain in the show in your opinion

@Psychonaut1001 There is no actual villain here. The angels have their agenda, Seele has its agenda, humans have their agendas.

@Psychonaut1001 “All moral frameworks are inherently equal” ok buddy

@divinetrickr I was thinking of watching it, is it good?

@divinetrickr Yes as long as you understand there’s a certain amount of goofy anime tropes/conventions in it that remind you you’re watching anime. Also it’s genuinely disturbing by the end.

@divinetrickr Also must watch in Japanese. Don’t be a Dubcel

@divinetrickr Awesome! If I have time soon, I will watch.

It’s just Art, Religion and History combined. Not right wing or left wing.

baby's first mecha anime.

Do they actually get better from there or is it just 80iq gundam slop all the way down

@StartideProphet Eva is special, a deconstruction of the anime-mecha genre. i've never watched Gundam but it has left me the impression throughout the years that it's the closest to Eva in the mecha genre. i remember hearing good things about Gundam the Origin (i think?) back in the day.

@Read_Acted "deconstruction." He says this as it follows the same tropes of every Mecha anime with very little improvement to the point they even copied the ending of ideon be invoked. Come on.

@Read_Acted yeah sure, last years' evangelion was something else. really hoping to see the next one this year. i've heard that about ideon before. from the little i know, the main focus on ideon was a war? whereas in Eva is personal and psychological focused, it's essentially different.

@Read_Acted could be wrong about that tho. but yeah, not many series focus THAT much in the personal struggles and the psychology of their characters like Eva and The End. especially in a mecha anime (after and before Eva) where the main focus is, usually and as expected, the robots.

@Read_Acted i mean, if we go further than that, even the "mechas" in Evangelion aren't rlly mechas lol.

My favorite part of people assigning religious themes to Eva is the fact the creators said in an interview “we just kinda thought the imagery looked cool, there’s no meaning behind it”

Wow I’ve never heard that anecdote before

.co on Insta

Its pretty apolitical but ok

Resist merging into the goo Choose being an individual

@Kodiaka_ The actual theme is that there is no self without others, with motifs of self-acceptance and self-affirmation. These are more left-wing than right-wing coded.

I disagree. Self-affirmation leads more to individuation than subsumption into the crowd. Very Nietzschean. That said I don’t think “rw” is one specific ideology but more an instinct for that which is higher order, higher energy, pro civilization, embracing nature fully. An ability to think about proportion and balance instead of binaries. You can be catholic or nietzschean and still be rw broadly speaking

@Kodiaka_ I understand in Evangelion part of the core drama is human connection; not discounting that. Again it’s not a binary of self vs others, but what is the proper relationship. Fear and horror of being subsumed is just as much a theme of the show as desire for connection

@Kodiaka_ Fair enough, but fear of being subsumed can be interpreted in a different way, specifically if you think about the typical right-wing views on the nuclear family or work, one can fear being subsumed by this societal expectation when one in reality doesn’t adhere to these views.

@Kodiaka_ Definitely. Though certainly a more salient theme in the East Asian context than western

Unfortunately right wing is incapable of making good art for a couple of decades. Just as libtards are incapable of going to the gym and starting a normal family. Yin yang.

Wouldn't really call referencing an "anti-militarist" novel very Right-Wing, especially from a Japanese perspective. Its use of counter-cultural Western Esotericism and promotion of Individualism makes its status as "Right-wing" in a Japanese context questionable.

All true and well said except I don’t care about the Author

"right wing Art" Lmao...

Right wing art for right wing bros.

I hate anime

A show about a shadowy international cabal who want to mush humanity into one singular indistinguishable goo out of their religious conviction only to be stopped by the humanity of a senstive young man whos senstive chud father wants to manipulate both because foid left Vrill

what account bot do you need to ping to download this?

Thank you I’m watching episode 25 right now

Makes me only appreciate it only so much more

What does this have to do with right Wing politics? I lean more right on the compass but still

This goes so hard

Feel like @rivatez might like this

@Smith_Everitt look evangelion mentioned

Oo what is that

These are the Adams that appear in Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11. And the image below is a cave painting by the Wandjina, a tribe from Australia. And if you look closely, they have many similarities.

the Kabbalah inclusion is a real bummer

Peak anime

babby's mecha anime

lol what

Like

Evangelion isn't right wing art

pretty cool in a way

Evangelion es genuinamente buena

Evangelion is something man.

Right wingers/crypto bros/incels think because there are religious references and Shinji is the king of the incels that gives them the hint that Evangelion belongs to somsone as they... Keep trying not baity half baked tweet will make you a part of it.
