This sort of supreme racing coverage would never happen today. Not being offensive to the presenters and pundits of this era, but nowadays they are devoid of charisma, lack any knowledge and are as false as a Love Island Blondes knockers.

What days those were back then. Waking up Saturday morning , hungover , to switch on the morning line. Hangover cured with characters like Big Mac and Barry. Left me full of enthusiasm for the racing day ahead. RIP.

Brilliant! Good old harmless fun with these two legends. Thoughts with Barry's family.

You'd be shot for interacting with racegoers like that these days, despite all the smiles! People have largely forgotten not to take life too seriously and look for offence.

Very sad to hear that Barry is no longer with us. He was a real character. Used to see him down at Lingfield and Plumpton all the time and would have my tenner win with him. Glad to know that I helped pay his mortgage..Sleep well Mr Dennis..
