RIP Daniel Ellsberg. When asked if he was afraid about spending his entire life in prison for leaking the Pentagon Papers and exposing the genocidal war criminals behind the Vietnam War, this was his response:

those genocidal war criminals, like Henry Kissinger, faced no consequences for their mass murder. In fact, they remain beloved figures by the Western media and political class, who just recently celebrated his birthday. The people responsible for all this:

when you get the President of the United States so infuriated by you that he calls you a "son of bitch" and tries to destroy your life for having exposed the empire's war crimes, you know you have lived a good, virtuous life. Again, RIP Daniel Ellsberg

Daniel Ellsberg talks about when he first read the Pentagon Papers and was shocked to learn that the story four successive Presidents had told about the US role in Vietnam was a lie, and how he became determined to reveal the truth to the world

the moment Daniel Ellsberg turned himself in, surrounded by supporters and reporters. He says: "Wouldn't you go to prison to help end this war?" The answer for the Western media and political class is of course no, they wouldn't. And that's why Dan Ellsberg was indispensable. RIP

The epitome of bravery, integrity, and decency. I'll never understand how anyone can criticize people like Daniel, Snowden, Assange etc or call them a traitor when they illustrate that politicians are violating the constitution of the very nation they swore an oath to uphold.

When Journalists reported on the Facts..

Free Assange.

@SocialistVoice What an inspiring person. Such moral clarity. RIP Daniel Ellsberg

I'd really recommend anyone interested in the subject to read his memoir. Even before he leaked the papers, his experiences in Vietnam, personally going through every "pacified" region, by car, to verify for himself if we were winning (and seeing that we weren't) is insane.

“If Ellsberg comes out unscathed it will show that you are a weakling, Mr. President” Kissinger to Nixon after the Pentagon Papers leak.
