RIP JPR Williams Some player!

The man who created the modern fullback. Attacking, aggressive running, pinpoint kicking, hard defensive (try saving & at times mildly illegal by today's standards) hits. Absolute legend of all-time rugby. Certainly 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 greatest & maybe the world's greatest ever fullback.

99 call would be multiple red cards in todays game but stuff of rugby legends. Sprinting 60 metres to get involved in a scrap is some teammate to have.

So wonderful to hear Bill McLaren commentating on one of the most mercurial and brutal of players, pure joy! RIP JPR Williams.

I'm genuinely upset by this; an absolute Welsh rugby icon who I thought would outlive most of us.

Ended up on the bottom of a ruck when playing against New Zealand, no prisoners taken back then, carried on and finished the game, true warrior.

I'm not a Union fan. Am a Northern RL Fan. JPR was a running rugby player in a Welsh team who ran with the ball! Loved him. And there's THAT try!!
