Irish unification of 2024....i guess it was a different timeline.

the BBC banned this episode .. yet they look at other countries as being dictatorships

This is why Star Trek blows Star Wars out of the water. They actually explore interesting themes. The writers of TNG were so damn good.

The answer is violence by the oppressed is always acceptable because systemic oppression makes a peaceful, just settlement impossible (and you could arbitrarily name peaceful options that haven't been "exhausted" as a whataboutism), but thanks for asking data!

RIP 😔

Every time I see this I almost expect Data to bring up 9/11 no matter how burned into my memory this scene is. 😭

This episode was written by Melinda Snodgrass, same writer of the legendary "Measure of a Man" episode

He gave Data the best compliment

You aren’t seriously using the death of a iconic British actor who is literally a knight of the realm to promote your political cause and pass of that terrorism is acceptable which as a huge Star Trek life long this episode absolutely does not promote!!!

It's only terrorism if you lose.

Know thine enemy. And who is not.

The language of the oppressor is violence. When the oppressor will not hear the non-violence of the oppressed, then the oppressed will be forced to speak the language of the oppressor.

The Mao quote goes unacknowledged.

Interestingly enough, that one episode was initially banned from the UK. Later it was aired (in the UK) but with the clip removed. I watched it when I lived in the US. I wonder why the writer didn't cite the Palestinians against the Israelis?

@Lotusgirl625 “The Irish unification of 2024” so based

In other words faced with the reality of man's methods for colonynizing, he will indeed resort to using tactics that result in terrorism to achieve his objective. R.IP. Patrick Stewart.

How self centred do you need to be to use the death of a greatly loved actor to push your political agenda by posting a clip where he isn't the main focus of the scene and the line you want us to listen to isn't delivered by him?

RIP to my fav Star Fleet Captain. I loved all the Star Trek iterations, but Next Generation edged all the others out to become my fav.

Wasn’t confusing at all to me. Reaches a certain point where violence is the only way those “guys” leave your country and resources alone.

Got the Irish unification off by a couple years but good enough

Murdering scum!

Which season? Episode?

Terrorism Smerrorism

When reunification happens we will change the calendars to 2024 to retroactively make Star Trek correct

☀️ 🖖

Nice scene

Irish Unity be like: "yea, I support terrorism" I can't say I don't appreciate the honesty

Armed rebellion fine, start raping and murdering kids and families, like your hamas friends, no

@grok is this real or AI generated?

Hey @grok ... How come on Star Trek when someone asked Data a question, they didn't get a thousand replies shrieking "Hurr durr anyone that asks Data is retarded".
