Because Shubman Gill is set to captain India in the 2027 World Cup, KL Rahul can’t become captain there. And the 2031 World Cup is still six years away - by then KL Rahul will be 39 or 40, and BCCI won’t make him captain at that age. Even Rohit Sharma was stripped of the ODI captaincy by the BCCI at the age of 37, despite winning two World Cups. Rishabh Pant should have been made the ODI captain.
