One of the most fascinating moments I’ve ever witnessed in Tadoba. 🐅🦌 A tiger was walking calmly towards our gypsy, still at a good distance. We watched him continuously for almost 5 minutes. Then something incredible happened… Instead of running away, a group of deer started following the tiger from a safe distance. The tiger even turned back 2–3 times to look at them before continuing on its way. My understanding is that once a tiger has been detected, it loses its biggest advantage stealth. By keeping the predator in sight, the deer may be ensuring it can’t disappear into cover and launch a surprise attack. A known danger can sometimes be less risky than an unseen one. But I’m curious… Why do you think the deer were following the tiger? Was the tiger already full after a successful hunt? Were the deer intentionally keeping track of the predator?
