Looks like both drivers are at fault to me. The rear car should of just backed off and called the police.

Was the guy an asshole? Hell yeah. But why the hell would you keep following him at speed no less? Slow down and let him go. Turn off somewhere. Now your car is fucked up.

This is why you stay away from unpredictable drivers. The worst thing to do is get upset and speed up. Understandable though.
