Ukraine Begins to Be Cut Off from the Black Sea Apparently, Ukraine has gone too far with its attacks on Russian "shadow fleet" ships. The independent country, as we predicted, is starting to be cut off from the Black Sea. Strikes on Ukrainian ports and the entire transport infrastructure of the south of the country are being carried out almost daily. Recently, a bridge in Mayaki, which supports logistics from the Danube ports, was hit. As a result, traffic on the Odessa-Reni highway was stopped. The enemy was forced to set up pontoon crossings. Attacks on the energy sector of the Odessa region are also playing a role. The operation of ports is seriously limited due to constant power outages. And after recent strikes on the "Yuzhny" port (in the video), which resulted in the destruction of a sunflower oil terminal, the reception and dispatch of ships were temporarily suspended. Strikes on the Odessa region are hitting Kiev's wallet hard. Maritime logistics, including the grain corridor through the Black Sea ports and the delivery of goods through the Danube ports, provide a significant part of Ukraine's imports and exports. Thus, about 60 percent of all volumes go through the Danube ports. For agricultural products, maritime corridors accounted for more than 70 percent of exports last year. The effectiveness of Russian strikes is confirmed in the USA. According to the American Chamber of Commerce, the attacks have already reduced the work of port terminals by 50 percent, some of them have been shut down, most are operating on generators. The losses of Ukrainian grain and oilseed exporters are estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars a month. The Americans warn that if the intensive bombing of ports continues, Ukrainian and international businesses will face critical operational risks. According to the Ukrainian Grain Exchange, due to constant air alerts and attacks on Odessa ports, the acceptance and loading of grain is proceeding with significant delays. If in December Ukraine was supposed to ship 3.8 million tons of grain, it actually exported only 1.2 million. Strikes on port infrastructure increase the cost of transshipment, freight, and lead to a decrease in export prices. The enemy is forced to use rail and road transport for grain transportation, which is much more expensive and takes more time. All this directly affects Ukraine's financial stability and deprives it of one of the few sources of income. At this rate, Kiev will soon be left to rely solely on external financial injections. On Tuesday, May 14, 2024 our President and Co-Founder (Roy Serruto Jr) survived a harrowing accident in his Tesla Model Y, hit by an Audi at 60 MPH and then run over by a semi-truck at 55 mph (see previous post for pictures). While not great quality, the ODOT Columbus, Ohio Dept of Transportation video footage shows the terrifying sequence, highlighting Tesla's engineering and safety features that saved his life. 1.The car sustained multiple high speed impacts. The only glass that broke was the back window and the rear passenger window. The roof, front windshield, and other windows remained intact. No known glass hit Roy during the accident. 2.The car did not flip over, even when hit at 60 MPH, spun into oncoming traffic, and hit by a semi going 55 MPH. an avid golfer, Roy’s 2021 Rouge Callaway Golf golf clubs and golf bag was in the trunk and while completely covered with glass after the accident the clubs remained in one piece. While Roy was able to walk away and credits Elon Musk and Tesla with saving his life and allowing him to still be here with his wife and 7 year old son he is in a good amount of pain and it will take some time for a full recovery. Roy has no broken bones and did not sustain a concussion. Roy plans to upgrade to a Tesla Model X or a Cybertruck if he can get one quick enough. Please wish him well and a quick recovery! It must take enormous motivation to get ready every morning, commute from Ballabgarh towards Gurugram, arrive at a bus stand like this -and still take out your phone, record it, share it and hope that this time someone will care enough to act. Our dear member Sumit Tayal has been doing exactly that for 3 years. 3 years of documenting and reporting waste dumping and burning. 3 years of raising concerns. 3 years of hoping the civic authorities -including CAQM/CPCB -will hold the local authorities accountable and fix ground situation And yet, here we are. Open dumping. Open burning. Food waste, cups, plates, fruit waste, straws and plastic around vendor stalls. Stray cattle. Open defecation. Road dust. Filth. As Sumit says in the video: “सामने ही पुलिस चौकी और नगर निगम फरीदाबाद का कार्यालय भी है, तब ये हाल है।” The police post is right there. The Municipal Corporation Faridabad office is right there. Then how does this become #normal? PMO India -how does the government expect people to shift to public transport to reduce congestion and emissions when this is what awaits them? We aren’t asking for an airport lounge. We are asking for a decent bus stand in 2026: clean surroundings, functional toilets, drinking water, proper waste collection, source reduction and segregation, a system for vendors to manage their waste, no dumping or burning and a paved, usable approach road. And yes, we have all seen how quickly public spaces can be cleaned and made presentable when a VIP event is expected. So clearly, it can be done. Bengaluru is being strangled by a corrupt government that refuses to govern. The traffic crisis is worsening by the day, and the core reason is staring us in the face: the explosion of private vehicles. But instead of addressing this, the state government is fuelling it. Instead of building mass public transport, it has launched a war against it. At a time when every rupee of public money should be invested in making public transport more available, more affordable and more reliable, this government has done the opposite. It is punishing those who rely on public transport and actively incentivising more car and two-wheeler ownership. The state wants to spend ₹1 lakh crore to build 100 kilometres of new flyovers and 18 kilometres of tunnel roads - a gift wrapped package for the politician-contractor lobby. But here’s the punchline: more than 20 flyovers have been pending for close to eight years, lying incomplete across the city. Before even completing what it has already failed, the government wants to throw billions more at the same failure. This isn’t infrastructure building. This is an addiction to kickback-paying contracts. The ₹18,000 crore tunnel road is the peak of this madness — a vanity project that benefits only private cars while being a death sentence for the city’s public transport system. It will not serve the pedestrian, the cyclist, the commuter - it will serve only the cars, the SUVs. It won’t serve the common guy who uses the BMTC or the metro. While the government wants to build more roads, it is killing last mile connectivity. Carpooling, bike-sharing, and auto-sharing remain unsupported. It refuses to allow private players to run buses alongside BMTC, despite the overwhelming demand. Metro fares are being hiked unscientifically, pushing people away from mass transit instead of into it. Meanwhile, ridership in Metro is weakening. And the result? The roads are flooded with cars. A recent study by Bengaluru Traffic Police on Outer Ring Road found a 20% increase in vehicle numbers in just one year, resulting in a 125% increase in congestion. This is not sustainable. This will lead to a total collapse of the city. Every delay in Metro completion brings more cars onto the streets. Every step taken to weaken the bus system brings more two-wheelers into the chaos. Bengaluru already has more private vehicles than people. No other global city in our population bracket has done this because no other city has such a suicidal mobility policy. Let’s be clear: this government’s mobility policy is not citizen-centric. It is contractor-centric. It is not about moving people - it is about moving cars. This is a government in the grip of a politician-bureaucrat-contractor nexus, that would rather pour concrete than build a city that works. And who is paying the price? The nurse who takes the bus. The student who walks to the Metro. The delivery rider stuck in traffic. The poor and middle class of Bengaluru, who don’t own cars, but are cross-subsidising roads that are built exclusively for car owners. This is not just poor governance. It is structural injustice. This assault on Bengaluru must stop. Every rupee of public money must be redirected to public transport. That is the only globally proven solution to decongestion and cities with denser populations than ours have done it. What’s missing here is not technology or funds. What’s missing is political will. And that will won’t come from those in power. It must come from the people of Bengaluru. From those who are stuck in traffic and fed up of being lied to. From those who are tired of vanity projects and demand real mobility solutions. From a new generation of leadership that fights for commuters, not contractors. Bengaluru is choking. We can either demand change - or let this city be buried under its own traffic. Let’s tell loud and clear - Public Transport is our Fundamental Right. We need our government to provide it. This is a government in the grip of a politician-bureaucrat-contractor nexus, that would rather pour concrete than build a city that works. And who is paying the price? The nurse who takes the bus. The student who walks to the Metro. The delivery rider stuck in traffic. The poor and middle class of Bengaluru, who don’t own cars, but are cross-subsidising roads that are built exclusively for car owners. This is not just poor governance. It is structural injustice. This assault on Bengaluru must stop. Every rupee of public money must be redirected to public transport. That is the only globally proven solution to decongestion and cities with denser populations than ours have done it. What’s missing here is not technology or funds. What’s missing is political will. And that will won’t come from those in power. It must come from the people of Bengaluru. From those who are stuck in traffic and fed up of being lied to. From those who are tired of vanity projects and demand real mobility solutions. From a new generation of leadership that fights for commuters, not contractors. Bengaluru is choking. We can either demand change - or let this city be buried under its own traffic. Let’s tell loud and clear - Public Transport is our Fundamental Right. We need our government to provide it. Kasu Brahmananda Reddy park / KBR park is an urban forest spread across 390 kilometres in the heart of the city. KBR has been home for over 600 species of plant life, 140 species of birds and 30 different varieties of butterflies and reptiles. You see peacocks all over the park, many snakes too are spotted regularly. Animals like pangolin, small Indian civet, peacock, jungle cat and porcupines live there. People are allowed only for limited hours in the morning and in the evening & that too only in a small section of the park to protect the environment. At any point of time, when you pass by KBR, you can clearly feel 2-5 degrees temperature drop. In the heart of the city’s Jubilee Hills, it is a beautiful green lung space. KBR Park was declared an Eco sensitive zone on 27 October 2020. Traffic around KBR has been an issue. There was a proposal to build flyovers at KBR to ease the traffic by the urban planning authorities. People protested and the then CM KCR instructed everyone to stand down on the project since it destroys an ecosystem. Today! Revanth Reddy as part of the Strategic Road Development Programme and H-CITI plan is going ahead and constructing 6 flyovers and 6 underpasses. All because he wants to make area around KBR park - “signal free”! Budget is Rs 1,090 crores. No of trees that will be destroyed? 1942 mature trees will be uprooted!!! There is no environmental clearance to the project. Congress Government came up with an intelligent way to bypass this. They split the project into 6 separate projects and now they don’t need any clearances. What’s worse- the Telangana High Court had given a stay order & to bypass that, the shameless government is carrying out demolitions in the dead of the night. They want to finish the destruction before the courts open again! Bulldozers come in the night and work nonstop to create a chance to fatten the purses of contractors. These flyovers and underpasses will destroy the ecosystem completely. But yeah, who cares? If anything this is the kind of rhetorical posturing that I'm against in VP Chiwenga's politics. His propensity to advance his political progress by seeking to undermine everyone else, blinding the gullible by portraying himself as the betrayed holy victim and painting everyone else as a Judas. If anything this whole ensemble is an accomplished clan of Iscariots with no Jesus to sell! That is why I have pointed out cases like the funding of his wedding by Chivayo; support for his foreign treatment by Tagwirei and the vast DRC financial tranches meant for soldiers that never reached them! Yet today he peddles a version of himself that is unrelated to all these Zvigananda yet they are as interlinked as his umbilical connection to the Chinese flourishing and recklessly operating all over the country. While the Nigerians have been creating space for locals like Dangote, Adenuga to flourish here we have a VP underwriting and protecting a community of the Chinese feasting on natural resources while acting as a hitman against competing locals. Why isn't he equally raising the issue of the Chinese who are no longer a negligible economic factor but a corrosive acid that is quickly decimating ancient hills, ravaging rivers and abusing locals! A special economic zone will be established with preferred tariff and access rates to be negotiated with participating countries. 12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza. 13. Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form. All military, terror, and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapon production facilities, will be destroyed and not rebuilt. There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors, which will include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning, and supported by an internationally funded buy back and reintegration program all verified by the independent monitors. New Gaza will be fully committed to building a prosperous economy and to peaceful coexistence with their neighbors. 14. A guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that Hamas, and the factions, comply with their obligations and that New Gaza poses no threat to its neighbors or its people. 15. The United States will work with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) to immediately deploy in Gaza. Our insiders say it has been going on for years now, meaning the City of Toronto (a.k.a., the taxpayer) has been hoodwinked for tens of millions of dollars! And yes, we caught them red-handed coming back to HQ early, surely yet another P.R. black eye for the Toronto Police Operations. So, what happened in the aftermath? You’re not going to believe it… According to our sources, the police brass conducted no fewer than six “emergency meetings” after our story aired. But get this: the focus of the meetings wasn’t to put an end the time-theft. Rather, the brass was hellbent on finding out who leaked the information to Rebel News! As a result, we were told, every officer on duty that shift was interrogated. But think of the logic here. There are some 400 parking enforcement officers working at three separate divisions. It gets worse: our sources tell us that the parking enforcement poohbahs are now looking into relocating this division to a purely private and gated facility. This heartbreaking moment is just before 34-year-old Zimbabwean musician Tatenda Pinjisi died after an accident on his way to a show in Kadoma. He died in Zimbabwe’s biggest hospital, Sally Mugabe Hospital, formerly known as Harare Hospital (paGomo). I have spoken to a doctor who works there. There were no lights, and the nurses had to use a cellphone torch, as you can see in the video. There were no painkillers, as you can hear him begging for Pain-Eeze, a local painkiller only meant for moderate pain. This is a man who had broken bones, he died in excruciating pain. He suffered! The doctor told me that what he needed was a strong painkiller, but as I often report here, there was nothing available to give him. The doctor said no patient should die like this from a road accident if they have managed to reach a central hospital alive. But in Zimbabwe, you die because there is nothing in the public hospitals, absolutely nothing. Tatenda should not have died, but he died because of Mnangagwa’s corrupt rule, which loots public funds meant for hospitals. I heard that one of Zimbabwe’s biggest musicians, Aleck Macheso broke down and cried on stage and abandoned his show when he heard the news. But I have a question for my brother Macheso. What goes through your mind as musicians when you go to sing and praise for this regime? Tatenda is not the first musician to die like this. Garry Mapanzure died the same way. Why do you promote a political system that is killing your own people? And to the fans of musicians who sing and twerk for ZANUPF, why do you go to shows of musicians that glorify the system that is killing you daily? You must reflect if you have common sense. The doctor who called me today asked me to tell ALL Zimbabweans that if you are in Zimbabwe, your turn will come, it is a matter of time, unless you use private hospitals. She said there is a total breakdown of emergency medicine in Zimbabwe.
