Robert Downey Jr. audition for Iron Man

The lines were better in the final cut

No wonder he got it

😂

no way he auditioned? think he was just meant for tony from the start

Then Kevin be like

In 2008, Robert Downey Jr. came to Elon Musk for help in getting into character as Tony Stark for Iron Man.

Instant legend

He cooked in this one

Robert Downey has always been the best man for that role, no other person would have played it better

I'm surprised they even needed an audition for him. He IS Tony Stark. I still can't believe that the producers didn't want him for the role and the director apparently had to fight for him to be Stark. Can you imagine anyone else in the role? I know I can't.

and that's how kids we met the perfect Tony Stark, the perfect Ironman there ever will be.

Bro was born for it

that was a genius move by the casting team brosky

It was the start of something Legendary😍

the greatest actor character casting of all time

Founder of the Marvel cinematic universe

Only man that could have played Iron Man.

And Dr Doom. He just didn't know it yet.

Instantly legendary. The director could swear they won't give the other actors auditioning a chance right after that!

Only for the strong 💪

That’s the moment Marvel knew they had magic

They knew they found the perfect guy to be Iron Man.

It looks like it's a clip from a movie. It feels so rehearsed.

Omg the Goat Iron Man himself soon to be Dr Doom

From the very first line, it was already over. Robert Downey Jr. wasn’t auditioning—he was Iron Man. Perfect casting that changed cinema history forever 🦾✨

Great actor

Made for the part

Crazy to think this almost didn’t happen. The confidence, the charm, the vibe… he was Iron Man the moment he walked in

And the rest was history
