In March of 2004, Eric released his fifteenth solo studio album, 'Me and Mr. Johnson,' which consists of songs originally written and recorded by Robert Johnson. This performance of "Me And The Devil Blues," one of the tracks on the record, is taken from the 'Sessions for Robert J' DVD.

I know most of y’all dig Robert Johnson and the delta blues more, but the gentle fingerpicking Piedmont style of Mississippi John Hurt is my jam. Looking forward to the new documentary this month.

Clapton didn't write "Crossroads." Robert Johnson did, in 1936, and legend says he sold his soul at a crossroads to play it. Cream's Winterland version turned a Delta blues into the template for every rock guitar solo since.

The Movie SINNER’S be careful‼️ In the 1930s, Robert Johnson, an itinerant blues player from Mississippi, ran into an African spirit-being named Papa Legba and sold his soul in return for a supreme talent as a musician.
